Samsung Galaxy Note: 5.3", 1200x800 SuperAMOLED, S-PEN stylus, 2500mAh attery... *phew*

Actually very good service from Handtec. Responsive to Tweets and tracking that actually said when it would be delivered in an hour slot.

My unboxing video -

Andy thanks for that I really like your video... you have a measured pace when you speak, a pleasant voice to listen to, and you don't babble. Not sure i can say the same about any other Youtube reviewers ive seen. Please do another video asap looking at browsing etc please! Also, Maps and SatNav would would be great to see if you have time. :)

Thanks for the comments. I did open Maps in the unboxing video.

No blue that I can see...

Got to be honest, with LauncherPro installed, it doesn't seem all that smooth at the moment :(

Forger Launcher pro. I dumped it a while ago for GO Launcher. Try that and see how it runs.

Nice one Andy. Especially the 'using it one-handed' parts!

It looks as I expected, usable but you're at risk of dropping it more than you would be with a smaller device as it's perched on your fingers more.

It's very nice but I'm probably going to pass it because -
  • The Galaxy Nexus screen is plenty big enough and it's HD as well
  • It's better looking and a better shape to hold (IMO)
  • It has ICS from launch
  • I don't think I'd ever use the pen and thus I don't want it there really
  • I'm not really a TouchWiz fan though I admit it has grown on me a bit

The only thing that will stop me getting a Galaxy Nexus is if the camera is crap, but I expect it will be iPhone 4 quality at least. So we'll see.

I could tell from your laugh when you opened the box you were thinking "Wow, this is a bit much..." :p

You didn't sound all that impressed with the screen though...

Sounds about right to me robbo, I was tempted due to the screen size but I could see me seriously damaging it in my line of work. The nexus ticks all the boxes for me. Just waiting for release now. :)

Really? I think it's pretty damn good. But then, I'm not that fussy with screens, I like em bright, clear and vibrant. This ticks all boxes. I've honestly never noticed issues on Amoled screens with text like so many people insist there are...

Fair enough, but there are very clear issues with text.

I've yet to find an AMOLED screen where text is even close to being as good as LCD/SLCD. I hope this and the Nexus are a step in the right direction.

Andy, Robbo is a lovely chap but feels the need to make a gazillion posts within a short period of time, all repeating the same point but written in a slightly different way. In this case, his reservations about the note's screen, size, S-pen, and the fact that he "thinks he will pass" on it. I think I have literally read those same points in 50 of his posts over the last 10 pages. :D

Robbo, no offence but that's what you do. :p

I hope (and somewhat expect) so, and I look forward to seeing it!

Me too, but the more I see youtube vids the more I think it is a smidge too big for everday convenience. Im seriously considering getting another SGS II as my daily phone now that they have come down in price and are still the mutts nuts, and a separate 7-8" tablet for media/browsing on the go.
