Fantastic phone but just struggling to get used to size my hands ache when using for extended periods and I don't exactly have small hands debating sale for s3
Just recieved my Note today and so far its amazing. But theres one thing that ive yet to do and its a firmware update!! Ive been reading a lot about the ics update bricking phones in france and i was just wondering if by any chance its also in other countries aswell? As samsung pulled back the updates? have any of you had this firmware update and did it cause any issues with the phone? Dont really want to go ahead with it and it naffs the phone, only got the thing today
The bricking problem is caused by factory resetting, and only in a very very small number of cases and probably only on rooted phones.
I think you're pretty safe to go ahead and update and I would suggest updating sooner rather than later. ICS is pretty large update so the 'cleaner' (i.e. less used) your phone is the better.
I went to ICS and im really not getting on with it and want to go back to GB, but im not sure which stock GB rom is for my phone, its a uk generic one. Anyone give me a little pointer in the right direction?
The GB to ICS is a little iffy, I did it then did a full reset on ICS and it has been 100% since.
Before I did the reset, I was having bother with my email only updating when I actually went into the client instead of the push working automatically. As I said though, its been grand since the full reset (backup your files first).
Mine were unticked on 4.0.3 but still had the issue. 4.0.3 was broken as it didn't let the phone go into a deep sleep state. 4.0.4 is working a treat now. Took my phone off charge at 9pm used it in bed browsing the web, used it this morning for email and its still at 90%.
I have one like that, looks genuine. Ordered it from the popular auction site for 11.99 inc.
I really like it and it is quite good quality, makes for a very stylish package. However I have the suspicion that it costs one or two "bars" of mobile network strength.
