just pulled down 4.04 through Keis, not sure what it actually provides though

- POPup PLAY watch movies when you mailing…. (Galaxy SIII)
- Restart button is green.
- Some icons changed.
- Faster.
- Signature unlock.
just had a play around with the Popup Play and it seems to work really well, nice feature (although i'm not totally sure when i'd use it...) And the signature unlock works well, if a little pointless in some respects.

tried getting 4.04 on kies for galaxy note and it doesnt show any updates. still have to wait

Can you increase the brightness from the notification bar by swiping to the right ?

Im sim free uk phone but still no update. does it depend on the model of the phone or do they all come at the same time

I ask because in the past I've experienced carrier provided phones getting update before SIM free models.
I think it happened with ICS for the Galaxy 2 in fact.

Odd thing is that I did see the update a while back and declined as I thought it'll require a hard reset - Now everytime I try it just says update server busy D'Oh

I think I might have a German ICS rom then, my ICS upgrade failed so had to fix it manually
no, i dont' seem to be able to...
Its a UK o2 phone, but I manually flashed the official ICS rom onto the phone a while back as the auto update failed

Current phone is dying and I'm interested in getting a Galaxy Note. I can get it for about£21/month, but is it worth waiting for the Note 2 apparently coming in September? Will the new one be significantly better? I imagine it will be higher prices too (initially)?
The Galaxy Note is effectively the S2 with a bigger, higher resolution screen. It's therefore reasonable to assume the Note will be similar to the S3 with a bigger higher resolution screen. So Quad core and better GPU. Better camera. Improved software.
In terms of the screen, rumours have it that it will be slightly bigger but without making the phone larger. Rumours also suggest either higher resolution or same resolution but with RGB subpixels.
To be honest the phone is an absolute steal at £21, the Note2 is likely to be £30+. It depends how much of a tech junkie you are as to whether you should wait or not but you won't be disappointed getting a Note1.

Thanks Grrrrr, if it's a 'larger S3' then it will likely be well over £30/month as you say. I'll look into getting the first one. Do you think they will continue to support the Note 1 with software updates for the next couple of years?
