Samsung Galaxy Note: 5.3", 1200x800 SuperAMOLED, S-PEN stylus, 2500mAh attery... *phew*

Kanifee what DPI are you using? Same question to other paranoid users!

On that note, installed 0.4a this morning. Working well :)

I find 220 to be best for most apps, it's a good balance between readability of text and fitting lots of text on screen. The main exception being messaging which i have at about 280 so it's a little easier to read when walking.

I have the notification bar at 260, this just seem to be the best size.

I have the device set to phone layout (i.e. notification bar at the top) but the majority of apps I have in tablet mode, it's much better for the likes of email, and settings.

You know what? I forgot how bloody amazing the Note is with battery usage on Gingerbread.

After
13hrs 13m on battery
2hrs 23m on screen time
I'm at 43% battery capacity remaining. Data has been on all day been browsing away, sent many texts and a few phone calls.

I would have to plug the Note in by now if it was still on ICS.

I don't know about developer ROMS, but Samsung need to pull their finger out and fix their ICS ROM.

I'm running Paranoid in Tablet Layout (feels like I have a closer integration between devices when using my Xoom this way) with pretty much all my apps in Tablet DPI too.

as it go's im using stock DPI on everything, have not really had much time on the phone for bit s like that as i have not even owned it 24 hours.

do i need to re flash the safe kernel before i upgrade every ics rom or can i just move form rom to rom?

hi all, just moved onto Note from Dell Streak 5 where i used Volume Ace to control the separate volumes of ringer, notifications, media etc.

i've noticed that using Volume Ace on Note no longer allows me to set the ringer and notification volumes independently of each other in that if i move one, the other moves to the same setting.

so could i ask if anyone knows of a similar program i could use?

tia

replied to your for sale thread mate.

installed paranoid android and im getting an error 942 when downloading some apps, any ideas or any one having similar issues, some of the apps are not even showing in the market and i can only access them form my apps list.

I use the paid version of this on my SGSII

Odd how it affects some but not others, I've had the opposite and have noticed an improvement in battery life!

As an example:

Currently on 48% after 1d 22hrs and that includes 1.5hrs screen time and just over an hour of calls, wifi and bluetooth left on, screen on auto brightness.

Yeah, it's where the market thinks the app is incompatible. Changing the phone's DPI sometimes helps (320 & 240 are most compatible)

And i don't think any of the banking apps work on rooted phones...

Get Voodoo OTA (no idea if it works with ICS) if you want to use apps that kick up a fuss about the device being rooted - it can temporarily disable root functionality or re-enable it as needed without any hassle and without needing to re-root the device.
