Samsung Galaxy S... highest spec Android phone released... also with QWERTY!

I'm on the stock I9000XXJVP, figured it was worth a look to see what all the fuss is about. :)
Changing themes would be a much easier solution, the other solution I have seen is just to modify the lock screen the phone uses. Doesn't look like something I really want to be doing...

Edit: There's plenty of apps to change the lockscreen, I'd rather just get it changed without an extra application installed though.

I really like using Widget Locker, lets u change the slider (Loads online at XDA), and put any application/widget on your lock screen so works really well.

Apply a theme thats made for you rom, or edit your framework-res.apk etc yourself, $omator has a thread on how to on XDA...

If by chance you or running JVP, then I recommend Jkays theme (again on XDA), it leaves the stock look but adds 5 lock screens, CRT off animation and the option of battery % or not... works very well and is nice and clean.

really liking this rom 3.1, very smooth and battery life is better

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1134583

I'm on the same rom, just needs more battery and it would be perfect, one thing I cant find on Miui roms, although a love them so much being some what of a heavy user its really touch. However I got home with around 40-35% battery today compared to other miui roms were I was around 10%.

Juwes rom was really good for a few weeks but recently have been experiencing lag when opening dialler and web browsing. It seems like nearly all my roms seem to get polluted after a while and slow down?

Anyone else experiencing really bad battery life on gingerbread? Considering going back to froyo to see if it's much better!!

No, but worse... have been experiencing the sleep of death!

Had this on my Samsung Omnia, and it was horribly annoying.

All was groovy with my SGS until I got the 2.3.3 update, since when I've been getting the same problem - i.e. try to wake the phone from screen-off mode and... nothing. It's off. Need to power back on again. Happened about 5 times in the past week now.

Urge to kill, rising....!

I had Cyanogen mod installed, and found it horrendous especially the battery life.
I did a factory reset and installed Darkys v10 from clockwordmod recovery.

Now my phone seems to be bricked. The clockworkmod states that Darkys is successfully installed, but when I reboot, the Cyanogen bootscreen comes up, but the phone doesn't boot. Ive tried to reinstall and also factory reset, to no avail.

Have I bricked it?

Did you try leaving it for a while the first time it boots after installing Darkys?

Can take at least 5 mins, and if you take the battery out before it finishes you'll have to start again.
