Samsung Galaxy S... highest spec Android phone released... also with QWERTY!

I did that too, but Ive now somehow removed Cyanogen, but ended up with my Galaxy booting up, and just gets stuck there vibrating sporadically.

I've now tried to reflash, using Odin to the original .pit and tar, to no avail - same result now as above.

Possibly using the wrong .pit and tar?
Does anyone have a version that might work for me?

Got it solved. For anyone using the search at some point, here's the solution below:

1) I9000XXJPU-REV03-PDA-low-CL747761.tar as pda
2)MODEM_I9000XXJPU.tar as phone
3)GT-I9000-CSC-MULTI-OXAJPU.tar as CSC in ODIN
512 pit Repartition ticked. Flash it.

Yeah, you cant just go from CM7 to standard SGS rom, they use different systems so you need to go back to stock.

Ive tried a lot of 2.3.4 roms they all seem kinda slow :S, this could be due to the fact that my dad got a SGSII and ive been using that a lot latly lols.

I'm hesitant to go to any Rom other than stock these days. There always seem to be a bug/issue that just ends up annoying me too much!

Anyone know where I can get the 2.3 official rom - Kies doesn't gimme anything.

Been running XXJVP 2.3.4 for a few weeks now, installed Stock XXJVP via Odin, then flashed Romads Deodexed XXJVP and Speedmod T6 Kernel, and it's been great except for getting the odd force close on the Dialer after some calls, but there is a cwm zip fix for this, not had enough calls to say it has worked for me yet, though so far so good.

Battery life is as good as JS8 was, smooth and reliable every day without lagfix :)
Only mod is JKays which simply adds extra lock screens, a battery with % and custom PWR menu... Fantastic ROM...

Tried the XXJVQ modem as it was claimed to be as good or better than JVP, but found that although wifi and 3g signal were better... it eat battery much faster so went back to JVP modem...

I have a strange problem it happens at random about every week or 2. The screen will just not turn on. Everything is working alarms volume. But I just cant get the screen to come on. I have to take the battery out. Any one else had a problem like this.

If I take it back to Voda will I have to flash a stock ROM.

There have been a few on XDA having similar issues and thought it to be Kernel related, some have since found K-9 Email app to be the cause, having removed it the problem stops?

Are you on a custom Kernel?
Do you have K-9 installed?

MIUI is/was easily the best ROM out there for SGS if you can put up with the less then favorable battery life

Try Galnet version of MIUI, have to say the battery isnt half bad, started this morning around 100% flashed the rom, resorted apps, heavy usages(2hours music, 2 emails sync, facebook, google+, some gaming, wireless hotspot, 40mins on the phone, lots of text and whatsapp) and its now at 18% so really is good now.
