Like I said before you can get files from m.getjar.com as well.

Where you downloading it from?

Go to m.getjar.com and download it from there.

Download the file to your pc, then connect your phone in mass storage, copy the file across and find the file in your file manager, then install. Hopefully it works.

Ok great that works, I've copied the backup over to my PC just incase. I'll go ahead with a factory reset before I go about upgrading the firmware. Does that sound ok?

Result! Updated firmware and restored all saved texts. It's running soo much smoother now. O and I can get on Android market.

You don't need a screen protector as its Gorilla glass and you'd have to do something pretty silly to scratch it, as for the case, I have a casemate tough.

I've only just discovered that a Galaxy S Plus (i9001) exists, which appears to contain the same hardware but a slightly faster processor? Surely this is a good thing as it means the original i9000 is more likely to get ICS as the i9001 is a relatively 'new' phone and almost identical hardware wise?

Soo many cases to choose from and unsure which is best! I've had a look at that Case-Mate 'Tough' but it looks to make the phone a bit too chunky for my liking and spoils the looks. Is the Case-Mate 'Barely There' any good?

Barely there doesn't really serve as any protection.

I'm not really after a pouch or anything like that. I'm looking for a case that's not bulky yet still protects the phone completely (round the edges/back), for everyday use

Any other recommendations?

I use this. There's also a solid, non-mesh look one. In fact I have both. Doesn't add much size to the phone at all and protects the corners and back.

Thougt I would let you guys know Ive been running the alpha build of ICS and this thing works like a dream, really suprised no FC or anything so far been around 1 week now. Everything works fine bar video recording I think, and overall ICS is a joy to use and Im really loving it.

What I did was from CM7 I installed the ICS rom and the kernel, booted but it wouldnt pass boot screen so I just installed both files again. Worked perfectly fine, then go back into recovery and flash the superuser file and the 3G file. Download script manager and select the 3g script this gets your 3g to work. After that enjoy your phone.

it is now in Beta so it should be even better.
