Samsung Galaxy S... highest spec Android phone released... also with QWERTY!

Y

I assume you have a three mobile if you already have the contract. Just copy the settings. The main service is just the server address, MMS is a bit more info. Two APN's to create.

The phone is not branded, just uses their firmware (AD is the code). I can't see any limitations. Just the lock screen which is easily changed with a wallpaper.

I see, I've just had a look at the access point settings in my current 3 phone and now I understand.

I think I'll try and track one down tomorrow.

Thanks

Edit - Just spoken to o2 who say that the phone is only available on contract and will remain this way for at least a year....I think not!

I called up my local store just before closing time earlier and they confirmed that it was in stock on the same deal, £319 + £10 top up.

Might just go and treat myself tomorrow.

LMAO I'm still on JG5 to lazy to update was hoping someone would report back fromt he little prompting my post gave!

I'll wait a week guess by then a finalish release willl be out at a guess

Am using the latest rom its pretty good there will be no need for a lag fix this is well fast as it is, i am using it as a daily rom and so far so good.

There are bugs as you would expect one that makes your external sd(if you have one) write protected but i can still add things with it added in the pc, flash works on web pages and it works really good,no doubt there will be a new one in a few days.

You should head over to xda galaxy s forum there is threads about them and bug threads also

I finally took the plunge and got myself a Galaxy. Had a play with an iphone 3GS last weekend, which was fun. Also had a tinker with iphone 4 in the shop, but went for the Samsung. I have virgin telephone/internet and tv so they offered me 18months at £35 for 800mins, unlimited text and internet and free calls to virgin customers. I was tempted, but the coverage in South Wales is much better with Vodafone.

Went back and fore from carphone warehouse to vodafone, carphone warehouse had no 16g models, only 8gig, but they offered me a free 8gig sd card and £32.50 for 24 months 600 mins, unlimited texts and 1gig internet.

Went back to Vodafone telling them that CW did a better deal, Vodafone wanted £35 for the same deal. So the manager gave me the 600min deal but at £30. Im well happy. Ask for premium promo.

Samsung Galaxy S owners, what kind of battery life do you get? I hear this is one of the major downfalls with the phone, but I think other phones such as the HTC Desire also suffer from the same problem.

TBH the battery for me is really good I expected a lot less, I use the phone quiet abit I would say, about 1 hour of utubing, 1 hour gaming, 2 hours surfing the web, 30mins on the phone, millions of txt and at the end of the day i still have 30%+ left. On days when I dont use it a lot I have like 60% or more left by the time I go to sleep. The main thing that helps I think is turning of 3G when you dont need it, apps like to open up and check of updates and so on so that starts to be a drain on your battery. Also I keep the screen brightness on the lowest one unless I need it. When its maxed out in doors its so bright it actual hurts XD. Overall I think its a good battery and I charge my home ever night and it never failed me so far.
