Samsung Galaxy S... highest spec Android phone released... also with QWERTY!

Can't get the phone camera to go back to having a non-green appearance. No joy from the manual, I assumed I had accidentally selected night settings or something similar. Any ideas?

Thanks for posting those settings. Having seen a few people in this thread mention the 02 PAYG price, I snapped one up, and those settings worked a treat in getting it working with my Three sim.

This is not specifically for the Galaxy S (its an android bug), but has anyone had any problems when sending texts, that a different person in your contacts lists actually get the message instead?

See here http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/android/thread?tid=345259e6d424bad3&hl=en

Quite a serious problem - hasn't happened to me, but has happened to a mate!
Once sent, your sent message appears in the correct conversation, but if you click on it, you'll see it is sent to someone else :o

By the looks of that it doesn't look like its fixed by 2.2.

I need to do the lag fix as the honeymoon period is coming to an end. Love the phone but the lag is unbearable at times.

Any recommendation on class of card to use for lag fix or will any do?

I'm thinking of leaving 2.2 until it's offical release as I need a stable phone for the time being.

I'm running stock JF3, are there any stable 2.1 roms that combat lag or do they all have issues? Reading various sites most versions have something playing up with something.

JF5is the best fro the lag , the lag fix only works for a while. Froyo version that i'm running is fine with regards to lag , however calender and stock browser are a no no.

SO you need to put with dolphin HD browser and no calender ATM

I just installed JP3, but i cant get my Flash player to work, I downloading it for XDA but when i try to install it with Astro it says its already installed and I cant uninstall it :S

Picked up an S today. So fast! One question though...

How do you show what network you are on? I can see i have full strength but it doesnt shiw vodafone. I have an o2 sim too so its nice to know at a glance which network im on!

I just got one of these.

With my advantage plan I paid a tenner for the phone and £15 a month for unlimited texts, "unlimited" internets and 600 minutes per month. A steal, if I do say so myself.

What is this about a lag fix and stuff? This thread is massive, and it'd be helpful if someone could point me in the right direction...

Woody - whats advantage plan & with which network? Thats a great deal, wouldnt mind it is avail.

Advantage plan is basically a half price line rental and phone cost discount that I got when I worked for the Dixons Store Group about 4 years ago. I no longer work for DSGi, but I still retain the advantage plan meaning I can get half price line rental on any plan for T-Mobile.

Hi,

finally upgrade time has rolled around with t-mobile :) and just typical they are out of stock of the Galaxy S! They also wanted me to sign up to a 24 month contract to get a free phone (£79 for the phone on 18 months). Still I renewed and I am awaiting delivery (When they get stock). Reason I renewed: Free phone, 900 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited internet £15 per month :D

Finally my trusty G1 can be put to rest..... lol

Cheers,
Hugest

How did you manage £15 a month out of interest? I'm with T-Mobile and need to change my G1

You forced the apk file using adb i assume? Mine installed fine but mem cards just come up as blank discs at the.moment!

I used sideload and it fires up the adb for you but I get INSTALL_FAILED_ALREADY_EXISTS but I just flash the phone again so not sure whats wrong with it.

Just passed a credit check (somehow) so the phone shall be arriving tomorrow :D. 24 month contract, £25 a month , 6 months free by redemption, 300 mins, unlimited texts and 500mbs of data (would have preferred dialaphones deal but they don't accept my card).
