Samsung Galaxy S... highest spec Android phone released... also with QWERTY!

TBH the battery for me is really good I expected a lot less, I use the phone quiet abit I would say, about 1 hour of utubing, 1 hour gaming, 2 hours surfing the web, 30mins on the phone, millions of txt and at the end of the day i still have 30%+ left. On days when I dont use it a lot I have like 60% or more left by the time I go to sleep. The main thing that helps I think is turning of 3G when you dont need it, apps like to open up and check of updates and so on so that starts to be a drain on your battery. Also I keep the screen brightness on the lowest one unless I need it. When its maxed out in doors its so bright it actual hurts XD. Overall I think its a good battery and I charge my home ever night and it never failed me so far.

Cool. cheers for the info :)

Ok so I bought one of these yesterday on O2 pay as you go for £319. As everyone has said it is unlocked and not branded etc.

I've put my three sim card in it and I can make and receive calls and texts without any problems.

I then entered the APN details for the internet and mms connection. I can connect to the internet, and receive picture messages, but I cant send picture messages at the moment, so I'm almost there but not quite!

This is what I have:

Name: Three
APN: three.co.uk
Proxy: Not Set
Port: Not Set
Username: Not Set
Password: Not Set
Server: Not Set
MMSC: three.co.uk
MMS Proxy: mms.three.co.uk
MMS Por:t 8799
MCC: 234
MNC: 20
Authentication Type: PAP
APN Type: Internet + MMS

This information came from: this page.

Can anyone see what is wrong with my APN settings?

Many thanks!!

So would something like this be a good alternative to the iPhone 4, going by comments here the iPhone seems hardly worth the extra money. Upgrade from an E71 due this week on 3, might see if they will offer me one of these!

Either this, the Nexus One or the HTC Desire. I would say it mostly depends if you want Android 2.2 (Froyo), Sense UI or the Samsung variant. There are of course slightly varied hardware specs, so it's worth checking them all out in a shop :)

I had the Desire for 3 months before getting this phone and now the lag fix is sorted on 2.1 (2.2 roms don't lag) i would take this phone over the Desire any day, the HD recording on this is fantastic and the 4" screen is far far better than on the Desire/Nexus One(same screen) and the fact its Super AMOLED screen means better contrast

The main advantages of Samsung’s Super AMOLED vs traditional AMOLED:

20% brighter
80% less sunlight reflection
20% more battery life

Yep and I cant get to the page

Strange i guess you tried different browsers.

Does leaving the WiFi on in the background even when your not using drain the battery? Silly question, I know, but it never made a difference to battery on my old BlackBerry Bold 9700. Also, do you guys think HandCent SMS is better than the default Samsung one?

Not sure on this phone but on my iPhone if I have the wifi turned on but not connected it considerably drains the battery.

I believe it will/should do. The wireless adaptor will need some power to keep itself active.

For anyone interested in cases, I thought these mesh ones look quite cool: link

Apparently they're fairly well made/fit well, I'm liking the look of the red one atm :)
