This is not good..
I'm seriously thinking about buying a 7.7 at the end of this month to compliment my Galaxy Note. Is there anything else on the horizon that other night be worth holding fire for?
I'm guessing there's no where in the UK to have a look at one?

TBH there is nothing out there that really stresses the Note and i assume that it'll be the same for the 7.7, and quad core in phones is pretty pointless imo. The 7.7 is the only tablet worth considering after the new iPad, but i cant drag that around with me.

I definitely agree that at the moment quad core is a waste of time on the Android OS.
There is still a question mark over ICS and the 7.7 isn't there? No time frame has been given, is that correct?

Any of the larger CPW stores would have them, the one in Westfield White City in London does.

I got the insurance done, I'm only waiting for the hard flip cases to come, today or tomorrow, and then the 7.7s go home with the lads, thing is I've grown really fond of them even though my phone's a Note and I reckon I'll have to get myself one, I didn't foresee that I thought the Note would make me immune!

Down to £402 delivered with the extra warranty and ultra fast mem card from *******, just checked.
Oh man, got mine and compared to the old tab 7 its so light. And the screen is so much better.
Better than the Note's screen as well.
The battery life is immense. I have been using it all day and finally needs a charge.
There's slight hiccups in performance now and again, but it matches the performance of my Tab 7 on ICS.
I have ordered a case, and until it arrives it is not leaving the house.

Someone over at XDA has been mentioning 3rd quarter of this year for ICS. But it seems like hear say to me!
It is in writing from Samsung that ICS is planned.. it just sucks that there are no firm dates!

Some cheap case from the bay. It had to be done otherwise i would never buy one since i want the perfect one. This way i get to use it while still looking for a better one.

It looks like a lovely device, but i don't think i could justify upgrading from the galaxy 10.1.

I am hoping we get some better confirmation, the fact they have stated a carrier specific model and not the more general P6800/P6810 doesn't really fill me with confidence. Hopefully when it comes to the carrier device it should be ported relatively easily to a custom ROM if there is no proper Samsung release.
I am surprised it's taking them this long for ICS. Most of the current devices are all using the same chipset, so a similar base should make it easier before tweaking it for individual devices.

does your warranty still hold in the uk? if the product was faulty would you have to send it to Samsung china or will Samsung UK cover the warranty?

forgot to ask, how is everyone finding the screen brightness on the 7.7, on some videos it look quite dull even at max brightness?

I took out a replacement warranty with the seller for a tenner, if any issues crop up, I get a replacement unit from them (or something, lol).
There is some saying with electronics, if it is going to fail, it will do so within in the first year, if it lasts past the first year, chances are it will last until you need to upgrade.
