Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Tablet

Indeed, Samsung have done some lazy designing in the past and I think Apple may just want them to suffer a bit for it.

It counts against Samsung too though, you have no idea how many people I know that refused to buy the original Galaxy S "because it looks like an iPhone".

This is 100% spot on, the 'S' was specifically designed to look like a iPhone which is just asking for trouble, especially when you compare it to the Hero and what Moto had on offer at the time.

Amoled changes the game for tablets for ebooks in my eyes. IPS panels emit too much light on black screens for comfortable night time use with no ambient light.

My galaxy s2 and desire before that were great as ebook readers bar the screen size, as with a black background and grey text, literally only the words emit light, so very easy on the eyes.

same config on my iphone 4 or touchpad emits a huge amount of light even on lowest brightness!

Looking forward to this

WHAT! £600! Are you joking, an iPad is £399, if that price it correct then Samsung has lost its ways, people only buy Samsung Tablets because they offer more features for less, this only offers an AMOLED screen, but to be honest it is not worth paying that much more for a smaller screen. The Toshiba AT200 looks very interesting. I will not pay more than the iPad for this.

It's pretty much the perfect size for reading on however, I have a Kindle 3 and that screen is just a little bit smaller than I'd like, but this would be ideal, shame about the back light, much prefer the e-ink for that sort of thing. Also at 335g this won't break your wrist when holding it for a long time in one hand like the iPad does.

backlight? this is AMOLED so no back light. I set my background to black in the kindle app, saves power and easier on the eyes. Still not as good as e-ink...
