Just about to sell my transformer and get a 7.7 instead. The transformer at 693g is just too big and heavy for what I want out of a tablet.

I sold mine too, and got a SGS2 as i use it every day, was only using my Transformer for the odd game like Fruit Ninja and OcUK posting.

All of which i can do on my SGS2/PC.

I think i will wait until the Kindle Fire gets released in the UK (whenever that will be :D)

Thin, Light, Exynos, SAMOLED = Do Want!

Got a Touchpad, I like it as an ereader, streaming films and some web browsing but it's too heavy/big (not so much screen, and that's my one question mark over the 7.7)

Is this still going to be competitive with Tegra 3 tablets coming out soon after? I am looking at replacing my original Tab with another 7inch screen and 3g connectivity, But with updated internals.

Hard to say without benchmarks, there have been 2 that I've seen of Tegra 3 devices, the first I'm going to discount as it raised far too many questions imo, the second put the GPU side of things slightly ahead of the SGS2. So assuming that benchmark was correct then this won't be significantly slower GPU wise (and still more powerful than most other devices) and who knows on the overall 'cpu' side. But this is also clocked higher than the SGS2 on the CPU so they may have clocked the GPU higher as well.

Essentially we need to wait until both this and something like the Transformer Prime are out before you can really tell, it will however be a big improvement over the original tab...

I personally think comparisons to other tablets like the Transformer 2 are a little pointless for this particular product... it is designed for portability, and the main feature is that stonking Super AMOLED Plus screen. We already know that the Exynos processor is a beast, and can handle 1080p video at good bitrates. The Mali-400GPU is a mid-high range GPU of current generation that puts in a good performance with most 3D games on the market. This tablet will do everything you want it to do, besides possibly super advanced 3D gaming at high native resolution (probably around 5% of current games), without breaking a sweat.

For my personal uses (speaking only for myself) of a portable tablet I couldn't ask for much more from a device than a Super AMOLED screen and a 1.4ghz Exynos CPU capable of 1080p playback.

This is the same screen technology used in the SG2 right? or is this a step up, I get lost with all the screen updates with Samsung!

But anyway this looks like a perfect tablet, the size seems great for films, browsing, pictures, games, it's not too big and not too small either.

A fast processor, GPU, storage, a good design, I think Samsung have hit the nail once again. Very tempting to say the least as I absolutely love my SG2, mainly the screen :p
