It's inevitable we'll see faster ultra wide panels... the Acer Predator XR341CK will be one of many I'm sure, so you're not asking too much at all. :)

....announcement on a 3440 x 1440 freesync version ><.

It's your call but my feeling was that I'd be waiting for a long time for a 144Hz 1440p 21:9! We still don't have any 1440p 16:9 IPS/VA Gsync/freesnc monitors on sale yet though there are apparently a couple in the pipeline which will be available in another month or two. However, I've already had my heart set on a 1440p 21:9 for months now since last summer! I was initially going to get the LG flat 34" but there were too many concerns about backlight bleed plus the lack of height adjustable stand and VESA mount irritated me. Because of that I decided to wait for the Dell U3415W but it was delayed a fair while and still seems to have backlight issues the same as the LG equivalent. Having waited 6 months already I feel like I've given the matter enough thought and want something to replace my 24" 1080p 120Hz and 20" IPS dual monitor setup!

I still reckon you're looking towards the end of this year for general availability of that Acer predator if you want a 21:9 gync/freesync panel at 1440p.Plus there are a lot of unanswered questions and odd statements about that Acer. No one knows what panel it's using, there's uncertainty about the resolution, they claim a Gsync and Freesnync version which seems unlikely they'd do both IMO and there's no actual release date mentioned. Plus the stand doesn't appear to be height adjustable which is an annoyance what will surely be an expensive monitor (again no pricing is mentioned!). Also, Acer don't have a great record for building reliable/solid hardware IMO and certainly wouldn't be a brand I'd associate with having the support network in place to sell such expensive kit. I know I sound kind of negative on the Acer but that press statement had vapourware written all over it as far as I'm concerned! I suspect by the time it's out there will probably be something else about to be released like OLED that will make you contemplate waiting another 12 months for it!

Prsonally I don't see 144Hz and Gsync as being something that would make me want to hold off buying for a year. I find the difference they make fairly minor but I can appreciate some will consider it to be more important.

Mine's just been shipped so is winging it's way to me as we speak.....:D

Still cant be sure what to get lol. reading about this monitor on other forums also many who bought this sent it back because of washed out colours and ghosting.
One thing that I did love about my LG was the colours. It looked beautiful and the only downside was the bleed.
Im exhausted sending these monitors back though so I would hate to get this one and send it back because it has ghosting and the colours don't compare to the LG I had.

I know some say ghosting isn't an issue on this but reading about it on other forums with lots of people saying they sent there's back because of ghosting so clearly there is something going on.

The 40 inch 4k Philips is a VA panel aswell but I haven't seen any reports of ghosting on that.

The lack of professional reviews isn't helping either.

@Matson

Washed out colours: lower brightness first then calibrate it (a shock to ex LG owners).
Ghosting: response time to Standard and nothing else.

On these other forums (got any links please) have they been using the fastest setting like I initially did?

Am I allowed to post links to another forum? just want to make sure before I do.
Also I have an i1 pro so it would be calibrated as good as it possibly could be.
Its more the ghosting that im concerned about since I play a lot of fast paced games. FPS and racing games.
