Samsung LS34E790C - Curved 34" 21:9 super-wide

yep ignore the washed out colour rubbish, i would agree out of the box the image is poor but global inferno has hosted a pretty decent icc profile and with that you only need to tinker with the brightness to suite and it will match the lg no problem, as for the ghosting theres none i can see

Has anyone moved from an S27B970D to this? As much as I want one of these, there is currently nothing at all wrong with my B970D and aside from the size and resolution increase, I'd want to see an actual visual improvement as well given the price.

@Matson : it would appear to only relate to "No promotion of OcUK's competitors" as in the company. I'm sure external links to another forum are fine.

Edit: thanks Silvgati

I am going mad, washed colours, ghosting only if their monitors faulty!!!

And with the reduced price at the moment its very tempting, i dont think it will go any cheaper considering the lg curved monitors began at £1000 and are now down to £800 also all the curved monitors are on par with their prices .

only what I can say you can get even cheaper be clever

So what's your initial thoughts after receiving it? Any issues with ghosting, colours or sharpness?

No ghosting when set to standard in response.

Colours are amazing once set-up with correct ICC profile and toned the brightness down a load.

Its as sharp if not sharper than any other monitor I have used :D

Hows the anti glare coating? From the video's I've seen it looks almost glossy in it's finish though I believe it's a semi-glossy coating rather than the sometimes grainy/speckled anti-glare type you get with most IPS panels?

Couple of shots here. It's not intrusive in any way, however I'm not using it in an environment where I'd get reflections. I can't imagine it'd be a problem.

Nah, me neither so cant see reflections/glare being an issue. In fact that was one reason I went for the Samsung over the Dell as I dislike the grainy/speckle effect a matte AG coating creates on white backgrounds. I believe the newer Dell panels use a less heavy AG coating which makes this less noticeable but I still think I'd prefer the semi-glossy style one on the Samsung.

Thanks for the pics BTW.

yeh i know :p im sure you allowed to tell me the price you payed though

Samsung UK sold a batch last Thursday for list price - Skarpanis clocked a nifty 15% off coupon (now expired) that you could apply on their site = £670 (thanks!). I doubt very much you'll be seeing a deal like that anytime soon. (will delete this if against the rules)

@eggcup - why are you using that method??
