Samsung LS34E790C - Curved 34" 21:9 super-wide

Already seen that and it does look and sound amazing :)

I just want to see official numbers on the response time by TFT central first as it is something that I am extremely sensitive to and the main thing I want to be an upgrade over my 29um65.

BTW what is the screen coating like compared to the 29UM65?

edit:

you going to get one matson?
Similar, look again and read comments. Do you have Facebook name?

And yes I seen the price from Samsung, what is their customer service like though? Was wanting to stick with ocuk due to their excellent service when my first 2 29" monitors had bad bleed/glow and a dead pixel, they dealt with it extremely quickly and even arranged for DPD to pick it up, which is a massive plus considering the size of the box and weight! :p

Don't have facebook, twitter etc.

I don't think will be any problem they give you 30 days cooling period. I only one time have warranty arrangament regard my tab they collected fixed and returned free of charge.

Samsung have said they hope to have 9 curved monitors by the end of year. NINE! If they only get half that it's reason to wait a bit and see what comes next. I do think the 34E790C is one of the best of the curved monitors available TODAY (albeit there are only a few, and the others all use the same panel, so basically there are two to choose from)... but I am VERY concerned within a year this model will be ancient history, and there will be far better options available.

Ah ok fair enough, thanks. Just need tftcentral's review now!

Hmmm, might be worth waiting then...

Although I hope it isn't like LG's screens where you have about 4+ different 29" monitors but the only differences are things like the stand, usb ports etc. :/

I just don't know why none of these companies have not got a g/free sync 60HZ version out yet...

Yeah if you don't have a good/ultra wide monitor atm then I would just go ahead and get this.

Happy enough with mine and only got it last year in June/July so can wait a bit longer....

yeh after getting a new high end pc 6 months ago from overclockersuk ive still been looking for a monitor to match it, i dont think i can live with my 20" samsung ive been using for 7 seven years any longer ^^ and £670 is very tempting, ill probably make he purchase tomorrow

£670? for the Samsung?
Don't know if im going to get this one. Im using a rubbish 14inch one at the moment lol. Might either get this Samsung, get the 40 inch 4k Philips or wait for more to be released.

I don't think the Acer Predator XR341CK is 6 months away... it might be, but with any luck it'll be here by early summer, and we'll certainly know more about the specs before then, and how it's going to stack up against the Samsung etc. I think right now is a tricky time to buy either a new GPU or monitor tbh... we're on the cusp of some potentially very exciting and innovative new tech. Of course, if you keep holding out for the next best thing you'll never buy anything, but I do feel 6 months from now there will be VASTLY superior GPU/monitor options available than what you can buy today.

I don't think you will get anything very special this year. I am very happy with Samsung and gtx 980 spot on.

If the Predator XR341CK lives up to expectations, it will utterly blow the Samsung away, simple as that. But we simply don't know anything for sure about it yet.

good luck with acer 6 month away +4month delay will be 2016 :p
Perhaps, we just don't know anything yet unfortunately. If it delivers what it appears to promise though, will be well worth the wait... and by then it won't be the only option, others will follow. This is a niche sector, but it's growing. As mentioned earlier, Samsung have stated they will have NINE curved monitors by the end of 2015!!

In respect of their nine curved monitors claim, this text is from an article on the Samsung UK website which I'm not linking to as they offer products.

The new Curved monitor range provides a comfortable viewing experience with screens that closely match the natural curve of the viewers’ eyes. The range includes the ultra-wide 21:9 aspect ratio SE790C, available in 29 and 34 inches, and the 32-inch SE590C.

These flagship monitors, alongside the SE510C, available in 24 and 27 inches and TV-ready 27-inch TD590C are expected to bring Curved monitors into the mainstream, thanks to their ability to offer a more engaging viewing experience.

That's six of the nine right there is it not?

I struggle to see that they'll bring out a curved monitor to rival the S34E790C (in terms of screen size) this year, albeit there is scope for them to do so.

This is BRAND NEW CUTTING EDGE TECH... it moves at break-neck speed, so I don't know why you would deny the possibility of a better screen sooner rather than later. The first curved panel only hit the market a few months ago! This Samsung is the second. Do you think that will be it for the next YEAR??

At 34" or more with 21:9 from Samsung yes I do. I personally expect a successor at the very start of next year and while I might be wrong its hardly the most ridiculous idea in the world.

I am also reiterating exactly what I said in my last post.
