BenQ XL2730Z:
- freesync + 144HZ so, much smoother for games + will get higher FPS with this res. and no screen tearing at all
- better motion clarity (a biggy for me, struggling to cope with my 29um65 largely because of this)
Samsung:
- better colours and slightly better viewing angles and way better blacks/contrast ratio
- 21.9 is superior for films and games when it works..... (a big annoyance this atm, too many lazy developers...)
Games atm are only really BF 4 but will be GTA 5 next month and maybe hardline.... then got wolfenstein + batman arkham knight and battlefront for the rest of the year.
Decisions decisions....
Roughly when do you think we will see the ASUS freesync IPS 144HZ screen?

Is anyone else having problems with the frankly neurotic power management on this monitor? I've got it set to sleep after 20 mins of inactivity in Windows, the "off timer" is disabled on the monitor itself. I can walk away and return less than a minute later and it's gone to sleep. I'm running out of ideas. When I had my Dell 2405FPW and the LG both on DVI-D it never did this... is it a quirk of DisplayPort or something?

A difficult choice indeed. The apple or the orange!
To be honest I don't expect to see the ASUS MG279Q until June at the earliest, perhaps May at a push but seems unlikely to me.

Good review. Seems to be the same as my thoughts on this screen and your contrast ratio ended up pretty much about the same as my second screen. I get my third screen tomorrow so will see how that compares.
I did find gamma mode 3 the best on my mine but of course as you said each screen differs. I will see with the new one which I find the most accurate.
