Samsung NC10

Touchpad scrolling is too useful for me to want to turn it off. Is the touchpad bad enough to warrant that?

Well 25% of the bottom and right hand side get assigned to scroll...does not leave much of an already to small touchpad does it ?

You have double tap and drag for scrolling

Any chance of any photos with Microsoft Office running to give an idea of the amount of space available to work with?

Here you go

if the samsung has the multi touch pad surely we can turn of the scrolling and use the multi touch scrolling abit like on applecraps !
ive seen it on the 1000h so must work on here.

Right. After waiting and waiting for the black version, I think I'm just going to cave and order the white one :D.

And yeah I agree, the bigger keyboard would definitely make up for a smaller touchpad. Cheers for all the helpful pictures by the way!

any news on eta yet?
also should my telephone order for the nc10 appear on my orders in my account, as it doesnt.

w00 my white NC10 came today, nice one swift OC delivery.

Anyway anyone who already has their nc10's decided on what sammy software is useless or decent??

im being lazy :P

Could anyone test to see if the laptop can handle playing high def MKV's. I know it's a total waste playing the files on these laptops it would be nice if I could watch things of my server in bed.

My girlfriend has just got one of these and I'm typing on it now. For £300 I don't know why I don't have one. It's brilliant. Small, light, massive battery life, good screen, quiet. I've not compared it directly to other Atom notebooks, but the specs on this seemed the best.

The downsides are the every so slightly small keyboard (not much you can do about that considering the size of the laptop) and the small trackpad.

Highly recommended.

I bought a Acer Aspire One with the atom processor and 512MB of ram, i could play heroes 720p (mkv) episodes with a certain codec. Cant remember which one, found it over on the AAO forums.

So i'd assume the nc10 as well

Took the AAO back because it was too noisey. wanting to buy an nc10, they look rather nice!

No problem provided You have Core AVC and AC3 filter 720P about 45-65% cpu
( You might want to set a custom power profile to allow full power on batteries)

first time post so apologies if this is a stupid question. with win XP on the NC10 what office-like software is there pre-installed? if there's nothing would any users recommend open office or something similar?

Has anyone tried messing about with Linux on one of these yet? I don't think Samsung plan to release a model with a Linux OS but does that mean it'll be difficult to get it running on one?
