Got my NC10 a couple of days ago, loving it so far

Can anyone recommened a windows theme thats very minimal and compact, particularly suited to a netbook? Ive found a good one for firefox.

ive found a few nice themes on deviant art,http://lassekongo83.deviantart.com/ , hes got some nice black and dark themes that can be used with uxtheme.some loverly girls too

Need some help if possible, started a new thread about a screen issue I have - thought I'd post here as its more likely to be seen.

I am away from any kind of pcservice, repair etc and my screen seems to go into meltdown and verticle scrolling - almost like a borked graphics card - does it before boot, all the way into windows etc. I have found that pushing the screen upto full brightness stops it but I need to conserve battery power so need to lower it (whole reason for going for the samsung was battery life!)

Anyone got any ideas - thought it may be driver issues with the samsumg screen controls, but would this happen on post etc?

If you have internet access, cant you register a fault call with Samsung online and get them to pick it up? Methinks the GMA video card is onboard on these? No point voiding your warranty.

Apparantly somebody has had it going on AVS but im sure some of you have tried it by now!

I tried playing hd stuff with CCCP and it didn't like it. I tried MPC & Core AVC and it works lovely.

Ohh thats bloody great actually, how big were the files you tried may i ask?

I've been looking for an alternative for playing HD on the downstairs telly, HD-HTPC's & Popcorn hours seemed a lot of money to do one thing but this being a laptop and able to play HD content would be great.

Has anybody happened to plug their Xbox HD-DVD drive into this and try a film at all? Long shot i know but would be awesome if it worked

One was 6 and one was 8. Both 720p. I was streaming over 54g wireless, but I was quite close to the router. The route was in the next room.

Nope, for some reason it's with "Digicare" and they're closed over the weekend. Not sure why Samsung use a 3rd party, as I need a straight replacement, not a repair, unless Digicare have a ready supply of blotch-free top halves of NC10s.

I'll let you know when I get it back. It's quite worrying, I mentioned it on that Sammy netbook blog website (as no one else has) and people are coming out of the woodwork. One guy got Currys to open all of the Blue NC10s in stock and they all had the blotches, so he went with the Black (which didn't apparently, though mine's black)

I got one today, primarily because I hate lugging my 15" work laptop around when I only need to use it for Outlook (client PCs), fantastic wee machine, absolutely perfect for this purpose.

No way to RMA it for 4 months and I need the darn thing... Have got it working intermittently but think it may be a heat issue - can get a bit hot out here!! Need some AS5 me thinks as looking on the web the heatsink is not great!

Is there any software to underclock the graphics and cpu? as that may help reduce heat, or even keep the fan on permenantly?

It has built in underclocking, i triggered it once by accident, one of the function buttons.
