Samsung NC10

Will do chap :). Results to follow!

EDIT - Just installed GMABooster, and clock was set at 166MHz for anyone interested. Does seem to be an XP thing then?

EDIT 2 - 731 3DMarks after settnig 400MHz clock.

Thanks for doing that. From your results and the other I found it looks like a 3 - 5% increase, so hardly worth the bother. Good to know though.

Had a look at the Swordfish case yesterday, really not worth £19.99! It was also available as a 'bundle' with a 2gb USB stick... for the same price. I asked for a few quid off the pouch instead of the free stick, declined.

So, any other pouches that you can tell me by name will be perfect? Preferably for less money!

I got myself a Zeroshock III from the bay for just over $30, well worth, much better than the Swordfish puches and better looking too IMO.

Hey guys, is everyone getting smooth youtube (and similar) playback? Mine is really choppy even after fully cached yet all avi's downloaded to my hard drive are perfect??? Im using vista btw and have 20meg internet. Cheers :)

Have you upped the graphics memory to 256mb? Made video playback much smoother for me.

I installed the Intell Wireless-N card with no problems. Didn't bother getting another aerial but I'm syncing at 300Mbps so I'm happy. Cheap and easy upgrade!

I found it for £13.51 :D

But I'm not so sure now, will it be using more power?

Currently I get 2.4MB/sec on downloads which is more than enough for LAN streaming videos and since NC10 cannot play 720 HD smoothly enough this won't be a problem!

Where did you find it for £13.51??
Dont forget the wireless-n doesn't just offer the speed increase but range as well. I've not seen much of difference to be honest. IMO its a cheap and well worthwhile upgrade.

Well I got my NC10! I've got Gimp + Ufraw installed, so just to get familiar with the laptop before taking it away for a few days photography holiday as daily photo backup.

Quite a well made machine, I'm glad I spent the extra and got the NC10 rather than a smaller netbook - the 10" screen is very clear - I've still to try calibrating it using my Spyder2.
