Samsung NC10

I have had a samsung nc10 since christmas and i can say it is one decent laptop for general use, ive managed to play shogun total war and football manager 2009, and then coming on this website i found out that the integrated intel GMA95 graphics is underclocked too 166mhz on the nc10's, the software "GMAbooster" will clock it at 400mhz which the chips is designed to do, i tried installing it but it didnt work, so i sent them an email.. apparently you need .NET frameworkd 3.5 installed for it to work, i was asking this support guy in lithuania apparently regarding battery he said that they tested it in there university they loose 7 minutes and the temperature increases by 1.5 degrees.

I hope this helps, but all in all its a bargain and now i can watch hd videos on internet with relative smoothness.
Im going to buy a 2gig sodim ddr2 ram but can it be pc6300? and hopefully do the bios trick regarding making it 256mb.

To the guy above its not a credit crunch anymore it is a recession. there is a difference :P

well i use windows 7 and didnt notice any difference with GMAbooster on HD videos or on GTA vice city (which i uninstalled cos it gets laggy). I installed all updates that are on win7.

I normally take the Jubilee Line home from Canary Wharf to Waterloo. Tonight the Jubilee is suspended due to a catalogue of problems. So I'm now sitting on the riverboat to Waterloo, sipping a beer, browsing the net while gently rocking down the Thames :D

Gotta love netbooks :)

Many thanks for the MaxDVMT GPU memory tip, well worth doing for those with 2GB.

The GPU is underclocked and so GMABooster does slightly improve performance in benchmarks, but not by a huge amount and so may not actually be that noticeable in real apps. Here are some benchmarks I found (not mine):

I was thinking of maybe getting this. Or the Asus X59GL for just £100 more. I'll probs wait though because i don't actually need it.. just want it lol.

Just a friendly FYI mate, you can only have 4 lines of text in your sig, and your last line has just gone over onto a 5th.

Almost interestingly, I've just run 3DMark03, and scored slightly higher than both of those scores without tweaking a thing. I got 713 straight off.

Any chance you could run again after using GMABooster set to 400MHz? Would save me having to try installing 3DMark03 on mine (not sure if it would under Windows 7).

Will do chap :). Results to follow!

EDIT - Just installed GMABooster, and clock was set at 166MHz for anyone interested. Does seem to be an XP thing then?

EDIT 2 - 731 3DMarks after settnig 400MHz clock.

Had a look at the Swordfish case yesterday, really not worth £19.99! It was also available as a 'bundle' with a 2gb USB stick... for the same price. I asked for a few quid off the pouch instead of the free stick, declined.

So, any other pouches that you can tell me by name will be perfect? Preferably for less money!
