Samsung NC10

Can somebody tell me what gpu clock gpu-z reports on their nc10?

I think I may have overclocked gma950 but I'm not too sure what the stock clock is. 166, 200 or 400mhz?

166 or 200 on netbooks, 166 i think off the top of my head, there was a little utility floating around that allowed you to clock it to the full 400 :)

Cheers, I've got mine operating at 400mhz after a simple tweak. Emulators and the few pc games I have on it are running a fair bit quicker. :D

thanks. will try tomorrow.

do you really need all the processes running that come with the standard NC10 install? Theres over 35 processes running with all the samsung control options

gonna download this app too (i dont game on netbook but might :P)

Thanks for the heads up.

now i didnt get reply and didnt find the answer but if any one can tell me if the nc10 can boot from memory card reader?

i do not have SD card to test.

Thanks

I decided to get on the Win7 train. Luckily I have another laptop with Vista on it, so I was able to make a bootable USB stick using diskpart. Dragged the contents of the Windows7 .iso over to the USB stick and backed up some drivers that were linked earlier in this thread.

The install went without a hitch.

So now I'm running Windows 7, build 7068. First thing I noticed was that it takes slightly longer to boot. Not a problem though. Installed the drivers, Chrome and Antivir. And now I'm posting here about it.

Now I'm using a Logitech VX Nano mouse. On loading Win7 properly, I'm finding that the windows mouse sensitivity keeps resetting itself on reboot. Not a real problem as I can use Setpoint to have a higher sensitivity, but might be a problem if I was solely using the touchpad.

I don't know if there was a problem with the Samsung Battery Manager as the icon doesn't come up in the systray. It seems to have installed a power profile, but there are no dimming options for the different profiles. All the function keys work though so I can just change that manually.

I've disabled hibernation and system restore. Which reminds me, I need to see if Acronis works here. I've got an OCZ Vertex 30GB so I need all the space I can get. I tend to leave my NC10 in sleep when I'm not using it but there also seems to be a problem with that. Sleep sort of turns it off for a second and then it boots back up. Don't really know what the deal is there.

Also experienced a problem with Chrome when it's maximised. I have the startbar on autohide for as much desktop space as I can get on the NC10. When Chrome is maximised, I can't scroll to the bottom and get my startbar back up. Also the startbar takes too long to slide into view! Slight annoyance.

Other than these few things it all feels okay. I get the feeling that it's just a pretty version of Windows though, and I didn't really need to upgrade. Must be the nerd in me!

I've got an Intel Wireless-N card on the way to me from Hong Kong so that's the next thing I've got to play with!

Hopefully going to order an NC10 next week. Got a few days B&B / photography / walking holiday first week in may and the NC10 will be ideal for sorting through the days shots.
