Samurize Scripts

i was thinking they are doing it only b/c they don't like us hammaring their site constantly :p

Well, I personally have mine set to update every 30 minutes - that shouldn't hammer it too much. I wouldn't suggest having it much more frequently than that.

Even v.90 has gone all funny now, any new update soon?

tut tut Raymond - you've not been keeping up to date with this thread ;)

See my post further up on this page. The BBC have changed the format again to the one supported by v0.91 of my script.

They have also introduced the use of the weather symbol file 'na.gif' (rather than '99.gif' as used previously) in situations where they don't have a current conditions. So, you may need to create a copy of 99.png (in Samurize\skins\bbc_weather) and call it na.png

Full 'pack' of v0.91 with the above 'na.gif' fix is here

Hopefully it will settle down now....

If you open up the actual bbc weather 5-day forecast web page for the location which you use I think you'll find that the current conditions are in fact a blank symbol and the 'tooltip' if you hover over that will come up 'N/A'

Current conditions are only populated by the Met Office (and hence the BBC) when observations are actually made and so you often get blank/N/A if you display that field. Current temperature, wind speed etc. are collected automatically by weather stations so are always populated. Some people choose only to display the forecast for day 1 (FDAY1: ) rather than current conditions so they don't get these 'gaps' in the forecast.

The script may be good ;) but it can't actually fill in gaps at the Met Office :p

Does anyone know how to add a tv channel which isn't on the Teletext site?

Or is their another script about that uses another website for tv channel info i.e. RadioTimes? I heard there was one but can't confirm.

The channel I want is LivingUk which isn't on the Teletext website tv list.

You're welcome to use the one I've written, it checks the radio times site.

Linkage:)

Those of you using the bbc weather script v0.91 will know what I mean (or at least will in a minute when you look at yours...)

agh sorry - looks like I left a few of my development lines of code uncommented - they try to write some 'before' and 'after' html files to c:\temp\

download it again - it should be fixed now.

just downloaded the new one, but now i get this, it does write to the reg, but then when it tries to close the client and restart:

kill.jpg

im using this for the shortcut, i think thats right..

"C:\Program Files\Samurize\Client.exe" "JMH"

if i click ok, i end up with 2 clients on top of each other :(

Which version did you have working properly? All of the changes since v0.9 have been very minor, and only relate to the parsing of the html pages.

The error which you're getting looks like it's something to do with the killproc.exe console application which is used to kill the old samurize client.exe, but I've certainly not made any changes to that, or the part of the script which calls it.

Do you have the .net framework installed?

hmm

maybe it's corrupted or something, as i went over it with the new killproc.exe

i'll download it again.. (same result)
maybe you could do the same? (replace your exe with the uploaded one)

other than that, i dunno grrr
