Sapphire AMD Deals

I thought back to myself having to choose between 1080p60 or 1440p30 (probably medium settings) in Witcher 3 when using my RX480, so thought I would give it a go with my 6700 XT and max it out, surely! Didn't realise they'd added so much to it but I put on everything, including Raytracing and my PC hardlocked.

Have got it running 3440x1440p at High, all RT off (textures on ultra thanks to the 12GB VRAM) and it still only does about 40fps! With FSR 2 on, it still looks great and runs ~70 fps. Looks glorious!

FSR gets a bad rap, but I have to say it looks really good to me!

Hi there

So you all know whats coming and its not particular exciting, so to add some excitement for this weekend we see the return of £699 7900 XT's and £299 6700 XT's
OcUK crushing the competition and bringing some truly epic prices on solid performing GPUs with lots and lots of VRAM. :)

Thank you! It's a tight fit for sure. Thankfully I've got my PC mounted under the desk, as I have to have the DP cable poking directly out the bottom lol. That 3080FE must be snug in yours @champ222 ?

I did have my old 3060Ti spaced out for extra air flow behind it, but with the 7900XT being nearer a 3 slot cars it's back in stock position. I could move the central motherboard tray, but I've got space for the AIO tubes the other side too at the mo. Temps are great for the 7900XT (not always for the cpu though!) and I've never seen it go above 66c. It's also really quiet too. Much quieter than my ols card.
The 3080 fits with loads of room to spare. Runs pretty cool, though the design of the FE cards does dump a load of heat into the case, though i suppose they all do.

Good to know the 7900xt fits though. Its tempting... not that i NEED more power, i could just wait it out.

I'm considering buying a 7900XT to replace my 6800XT. Does anyone have the figures to back up the performance improvement in both raster and RT?

I can do the Goggling later but just thought I'd ask in case anyone had the info to hand.

Cheers

Hi there

Been looking at the deals on 7900XT's

Is there any reason to buy one over the other? I'm thinking about temps and noise really, though it looks like from Techpowerup the Sapphire one has a higher board power by 35 watts, is this going to make much difference in games?

"What We Learned If you're shopping around for a new Radeon GPU or looking to upgrade, you now know that across a wide range of games the Radeon 7900 XT is about 30% faster than the 6800 XT (without ray tracing enabled), and closer to 40% faster with ray tracing enabled. Those are decent gains, though the performance uplift isn't necessarily the concern here, Rather it's the price creep. As we've noted in this article, today you're faced with having to spend 40% more on the Radeon 7900 XT over the 6800 XT."

I would get the pulse. Ive got the XTX version and its good as gold.

Asrock can have higher junction/hotspot temps sometimes, so I've heard. Pulse seems pretty solid, I have one and hotspot is fine.

Looks like the Pulse then, I liked the look of the Asrock a bit more some bling but not too much, but in the end temps and noise rule. I know Sapphire's rep is second to none as well.

:)

Thanks for that.

I'd have preferred around 50% across the board, but 30% is decent enough and the price creep issue isn't so relevant at the sale prices as I paid £650 for the 6800XT.

I think I'll pick up a Pulse. :)

Just wondering why theres never been a restock of the gigabyte model, it looks like a dual slot card - which is something I am after really ( not a fan of losing PCI slots when I do actually use them )
