SAPPHIRE RX 480 NITRO NOW AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER AT OVERCLOCKERS UK (WORLD FIRST) !!!

Hi there

Right Sapphire have given me some great news this morning, their initial batches that they tested they have agreed to ship exclusively to OcUK in the world. The first batch is a real small number as of course they are not from a full scale production run but a small production batch test run.

So OcUK customers will be the first in the world to receive a Nitro+ OC card, the first batch is likely to be around only 30 units and could be with ourselves as early as next Monday!!!

Then they shall hopefully ship 1000-2000 units next weekend to ourselves to clear the remaining backorders, 4GB cards should also be in that batch too. :)

Pics or didn't happen

No problem

Looking forward to that, a couple DX11 games in there too if you don't mind?

Not possible, we are on a very tight schedule as the press want the card at 2pm Friday and unfortunately I am on holiday as off tomorrow, so the timing is not great so we can only do what we can.

End of the day we can show the percentage increase over the MBA card in performance which will pretty much translate into all games anyway. :)

Are you able to reveal the specs gibbo?

They are on webshop, though it does have two modes:

Quiet: 1266MHz boost, fans on lowest profile, essentially silent in this mode.
Boost: 1342MHz boost, fans spin faster, still quite though.

The LED options are impressive, blue, rainbow, pick any static colour, temperature mode, fan speed mode and off.

I am a bit confused now. There are two versions of a 8GB Nitro, now called Nitro+ for £239.99 and a Nitro+ OC for £249.99. I ordered a 8GB Nitro OC a few weeks back, so what that extra "+" stands for? Sorry if asked before.

They are all Nitro+, 4G, 8G and 8G OC. All pre-orders are for the fastest 8G OC part and that is what customers shall get. :)

Card has potential, needs a water-block though, any news from EK ?

Yes for sure, we got 1360MHz OC stable, 1380MHz for benchmarks, this was with stock voltage. With voltage (Trixx 3.0 hopefully) and waterblock then indeed some will hit over 1400MHz, maybe even close to 1500MHz. But higher will be extreme modified cards voiding warranty.

I thought it was just the first 30 going out today?

The Nitro+ OC now has an ETA on the shop of the 12th August. Would be good to know if that's true...

This is for new orders, those who already ordered should see there card sooner than this. :)

ETA's updated as I literally just ordered an additional 3000 units of Nitro cards, infact the Sapphire Nitro 4G and 8G OC are as of now OcUK's pretty much top selling cards out of all graphics cards. Sapphire are absolutely over the moon with this level of success as are AMD. :)

But the Nitro at £199 and £250 is a serious incredible card that really just hits every mark, great looks, cool and quiet, tonnes of features, overclockable, great warranty. Gotta be one of the best all round cards of all time, absolutely nailed it! :)

Thanks for the update! How many are going out for this weekend if you can share?

Sapphire manage to get us more than the promised 30pc early delivery, it is now around 100 units which all being well should ship today. This 100 is mixed between 4G and 8G however. :)

Next lot just shipped today, which was a further 60-100 units and hopefully more will ship this weekend.

AMD are also aware that we have nearly 10,000 units of RX 480 on backlog, of which Sapphire accounts for over 50%, as such AMD are also moving more GPU to fulfill OcUK PO's.

We are now no.1 in the world for RX 480 sales on an end-user based level. Right now we are actually turning away mining orders on RX 480 to ensure it is gamers getting first dibs.

As mining is kicking off again on RX 480, but we are refusing to take orders until there is enough stock to cope with gamers and mining demand, gamers come first. :)
