Schumacher to Mercedes GP?

We would take you along but clearly you have a lot more growing up to do before you're allowed near a pub.

Rosberg is about to have his career ended. Full preferential treatment to Micheal, the cars won't even be the same spec. He's now the Brawn whipping boy until the Germans can get Vettel in place.

:D:D:D

Exactly,I really feel for Rosberg as that will undoubtedly happen now

I wonder if Rosberg can use the same clause as Kubica to NOT join Brawn for this reason (whether its a decent car or not he wont get a fair crack) and surely he signed his contract when it was still Brawn and not Merc?

He may not choose to anyway, and probably wont, but its something to think about

Indeed it is.

Cheating is all part and parcel of F1 and you must learn to manipulate the rules and situations so that you benefit. MS was the best at this and as a result had big successes. Remember, we only know about the shenanigans for which he got caught. He probably did a lot of other things that we are not aware of and didnt get caught for.

Only you could say that with a straight face

The fact is you (as well as nearly everyone else on here) complain when the FIA blatantly get it wrong - but when a driver blatantly cheats its ok (without even considering the times MS undoubtedly didnt get caught)?

Thats a clear double standard

Everyone should stick to the rules and it would be a MUCH better sport (just like diving in football, or forms of "hidden" violence in rugby) but because of this kind of view it never will be

If Rosberg decides to leave now, what other options are there for 2010?
One year in Renault for example (even if its only a midfield team) would surely be better than however many in Merc with a significantly disadvantaged bias from the team?

(Maybe 2nd seat has already gone - and if I were him then Merc even now would be better than any of the rest - but at least he knows he would get the same equipment as Kubica and is just as likely to beat him as vice versa)

Taking speculation to a whole new level now, the season hasn't started, MS retired and has come back where they will not be favoured to win, Farrari / McLaren usually are the 2 to beat.

If Merc can have a car on the same level as the next best 1/2 teams then I would say MS would still be favoured to win.

But I don't think Ross Brawn is going to cherry pick between drivers and I think he has shown that already with his Brawn team last year.

Lets just wait and see what happens.

I know one thing MS hasnt done.......

won a title legitimately :D

(whether anyone else has in the past or not makes not a jot of difference)

IF he does that at Merc then even I will hold my hand up and give credit where its due, but until then....

right all 7 were cheating even if he does well this season or the 2 following it youll be omfg he cheated! DIRTY CHEAT!

go have a pint of BITTER

I ment to say I doubt Ross Brawn is going to Favour MS over NR, regardless of there great and amazing history.

When MS agreed to come back and sign the contract, I'm pretty sure he was shrewd enough to get an incling of whether he would get preferential treatment or not.

When Ms was at Bennetton and Ferrari, he had it in his contract that he would be the No.1 driver and now that he is returning from retirement, I can't believe that he won't have a similar deal in place.

Remember, Mercedes were desperate for MS to join and lead the team. There was a lot of pressure for MS to be signed. It would therefore be quite normal for MS to reel off a list of terms, to which Mercedes would be only too happy to accept.

The financial implications for Mercedes to have MS front their team is massive. They will definitely gain more media attention. They will probably earn more money, due to the MS branding. And by having MS's experience at developing the car and moving it forward, they will probably gain a lot by having a more competitive car in the future years, which in turn will give them a greater return on their investment.

Technically if Piquet hadn't crashed on purpose then.....:D:D;)

:D

Agreed Mercedes will make much more than the 6 million they are paying having schumacher on board. The merchandise and sponsorship alone will give them 10 times that.

MS may now be an old man in F1 terms but he's still the most cunning and politically minded driver F1 has ever seen, If he doesn't have a preferential contract then that bike crash not only damamged his neck it scrambled his brain.

He's far too smart and he's getting paid far to little for who he is not to have some other kickbacks.

I cannot wait for him to start testing, I bet they take him somewhere to beat jensons pace in the old car for headlines.

Yeah I remember the Bennetton and Farrari past. The only real thing MS is good for now is cashing in on his name.

Merc want Vettal in the long run, MS is just a stand in gap with with NR showing real potential talent I would be bemused if there is preference given to a 41 yr old.

Maybe I am just trying to give them the benefit of the doubt this time round, but at his age in all seriousness I think he can't demand or expect the same treatment he had in his glory days.

Why is the fact he is 41 an issue? because of the split-second decisions he needs to make, or the physical strains on the body? Last time I looked, those in their 40's still fly super-sonic jets like the Typhoon which is seriously tough on reactions and the body being aerodynamically unstable to help with dogfighting.

MS will be fine, he seemed to have lost nterest as much as anything else in 05 and 06. We shall see.

should have posted this earlier :p

OH YEEEAAAH!

Not supposed to but heck... a certain person was spotted at the Merc Building earlier. I am under the impression that something will be said tomorrow.
Well, I was only 6 days late on when they actually said that the deal had been done. Im glad that my source was in fact correct. Now the intresting thing here is how the said source came to know this information and why him and his son was at the factory given what his son does. :D
