Seeing SetiClassic off in style!

I have 3 pc's crunching 2 @ 18 hours a day and 1 24/7 but my credit is only going up by about 10 WU's a day. im using driver on auto and it wont transmit, have to manually press the transmit button and even then the transmit box only flashes up for a second. none of the stat pages are working, Even the OCUK stats page isn't working so how are we going to know how far behind we are and if all this effort is getting through to BORKLEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
They clearly don't care about classic and its sad they couldn't let it finish properly rather than trying to force us out before the end. Fact is they seem to have had server problems, and they will be focusing on getting boinc working properly rather than worrying about classic at this stage. I can't see them bothering to extend the deadline, and I can't see me managing to get this queue uploaded before the end now. Sadly they've borked one last time and I think its finished any chance we had against SG. Shame, we could have given classic a good send off. I won't be doing any more seti boinc, there are plenty of other boinc projects worthy of the cycles.
 
Just looked at setilog.csv on one machine and the results count went from 1030 down to 973 and the last 60 entries it has stayed at 973 = 117 lost WU's, another went from 1032 down to 918 and stayed there for the last 76 entries =190 lost WU's. I think we are wasting our time with this, I would keep on crunching for the effort if it would make a differance but seems like borkley os so ****** up it wont.
 
I've crunched through 22 units today and recieved credit for 10, i noted down the numbers before i left for work to be sure.
I rearly can't see the point in crunching units that go nowhere. The gap is too big to close and with all the issue's, they don't
seem to be bothered to fix them so close to the end.

I'm finishing the units im running now and i'm going back to F@H where i will get the credit for them.

I was very much up for this thing at the start, but the last few days are the last straw, even with full credit i could only add about 250 odd to the end total.

It was a good effort to beat the germans, everybody should be congratulated for there time/effort/enthusiasm and help, but i guess it wasnt meant to be.
 
I'm back to F@H now as well. Classic isn't getting any science done. I was up for it when the battle was on for the Germans, but as KillBait says this is the final straw. It's been broken for days and then haven't even told us what is going on.

Is that SETI Classic or SETI Everything? Personally, I'm just tired of the terrible service that comes out of Berkley. We volunteer our time, our money, and our electricity and the service never gets any better. It just seems like we're getting the short ned of the stick. This Push is just a typical example of Berkley dropping the ball. I dunno. I suppose I'll stay with Classic until I see my 5k tiffy then it'll be back to the land of uptime, and by that I mean Folding@home.

BTW, these :mad: anger smilies are vastly less effective with Santa hats on.

Me too. Better stats, better reliability, better cause.

I read on berkely they were taking some servers off seti classic or something, and they said they expected seti classic usage to ramp down up untill the 15th.
Clearly they don't understand that for many of us, the stats are more important than the science, and if they continue to underestimate the importantce of stats and reliability and integrity of stats then they don't deserve my time and effort.
Folding@home it is.
 
Remember whats affecting us is also affecting the other teams. Oh well, I'm going to stick it out in classic till the 15th, go out trying for team and country.
 
It's just 9 days folks - may as well stick it out until the end.

After that, I'm quitting SETI@home until they introduce the new science (though I might dig out my beta account and see if there's any life there ;)).

PS - [thread=17504641]in case you hadn't noticed[/thread], I've successfully uploaded 1500 results in the past 96 hours despite the pain. It can be done.
 
I'm not going to sit here and work my SetiQ all day to get rid of all these dupe results that won't upload
looks like I've got about 300 or so of them and to be honest I've realy got fed up with berkly, its just not on this level of service for all the hours we put in
over 6 years of DEDICATED CPU time and 5 years of crunching (had a brake in the middle and came back with more machines) and they STILL Can't get the servers stable. its STUPID!
 
I agree with you guys. They are inept. That is the only way to descibe them.

I realise that they are scientists and not computer bods, but there's not even a 'sorry, we screwed Classic up, but it's the end, we're focusing on BOINC.' They're just totally ignoring the issue.

And Stanford manage OK.
