I was gonna let weebeastie play with you guys for a while, but looks like someone took all your toys away :(
 
Good idea Mr Biffa i think weebeastie and little "puke" will get along just fine :)
I think there's a good chance it might be back up and running later this eve or tommorrow afternoon at latest....here's hoping :)

Dam you s'ah, it's the 'toxic' effect, was wondering whether to get a cheap 460 to fill my empty pci-e slot if the big guns are coming out to play..

Then I remembered I need a psu more than another gpu :eek:
 
I thought Team OcUK had caught the contagion and gone down too, but it's OK, just really slow (running its weekly maintenance - yes, it has one too).

Well had the word back on the Xigmatec PSU I sent back, the scanmers have offered me £100 refund on a £160 PSU I bought in November :( Because they said its not a warranty fault.

Bum.

Well it's late....or early depending how ya look at it but i have that friday feeling, which can only mean one thing 7am rise and park my lard azz on the front door step and wait for dpd.....thanks ocuk ya done me proud today....mmmuuuhhahahahahahaaaaaaaaaa:cool:

Thing is I've had good and bad dealings with all the big three (OcUk being one) and although they took the name of one of my favourite files of all time, they haven't been that bad with stuff. But I've read the scare stories and just kept my fingers crossed.

Hoping they might give me more for store credit rather than a refund. :(
 
Mr Biffa sah, just take a deep breath and keep calling em untill you are satisfied, true these 0845 etc numbers aint free but keep plugging away at em, i did:)
I must give credit where credit is due, i got to grips with all my moans and complaints and bombarded sonny at ocuk, all sorted to my satisfaction they have a customer for life now.


**Edit** Gentlemen at the third stroke the time sponsored by Borkeley will be 4.08pm precisely.....bong!!! 10-15 mins we should have uploads working again and downloads by 10pm, think it'll be back to normal around the same time tommorrow 3.30-4pm.

Im going to amuse myself tonight by trying to get more than one einstein wu working on my gpu at a time - should be fun!
Seriously though - 6-9% gpu usage is such a waste

Glad to hear all is sorted toxic :p
 
Oh pook Mr Edge looks like its gone down again, i had high hopes for today too never mind, did you get your fans installed and is it behaving itself now?

I've just finished trying that. Obviously wrote the app_info wrong and it's messed up the client_state file for einstein@home in that BOINC can't find any Einstein WUs or apps (even though they're all present because I backed up the einstein folder first). I don't know how to fix that, so it looks like I'll just have to delete everything associated with einstein - should've backed up the whole BOINC folder rather than just the einstein one :(
 
And I'm out guess my prediction skills are worth something after all :D

Can't be bothered to setup any other projects so will have my rig turned off when not in use :eek:

Fans are installed, but with no seti to crunch it is hard to tell how the machine is behaving..

Ouch, but einstein seems a bit fussy about app_info's. My one works but the moment you delete it, it will trash your remaining wu's..

So in order to feed a GPU you need an entire CPU core. Since you've got 4 cores (and they're not going to do any more work, even if you launch 12 CPU clients), you could feed 4 GPU tasks at a time. And you've got 4 GPUs, you on average you're running 1.3 GPU apps on your Fermis. That's why utilization is still low. You could take 2 of them out and see a reasonably higher value, though still far below 50% (going by the numbers others posted here).
Edit: and it doesn't help that an Athlon X4 810 is not exactly the fastest Einstein cruncher.
 
Im uploading - slowly, but about 20 wu's have gone through :p
About time as I have too amny uploads to get any downloads, so hopefully I can get some once they turn things back on..

I'm off for the night, as I finally have my first wc loop on test (borrowed some power from another PC). A couple of minor leaks during the painful and back breaking filling exercise (so I'm leaving the rig switched off overnight to ensure it is fully dry), but coolant is finally flowing (in the pipes) :cool:!

Pity I'll have to partially drain the system again to connect the waterblock :(

Mr Toxic, I faithfully predict you'll have an absolute hoot doing this wc stuff!!!
