Thank you guys, your words mean a lot to me. Allthough the next few weeks will be buisy with that day and sorting the legalities and such am looking forward to coming home and getting stuck back in with you guys.
Congrats on the tiffy Mr Marine and anyone else i might have missed. If anyone has emailed me of late i apologise but cannot remember for the life of me password and that kind of stuff will get it sorted when i get home.
I have a few friends in boro and they really have stepped upto the mark for me, will have a small army ready to move me and stuff from Preston back home which is grand because i don't think i could do the trip alone.

Mr Berserker sah, once things have been concluded here will pledge to help you out with running costs on the web side of things, John new how nutty i used to get as far as seti is concerned and told me to keep it up and you know i will.

So take care all of you, Tbag signing off for a week or two and back with the usual mix of misshaps and mayhem soon enough :)

Hi guys......

I know I've been away (far too long) - had a recurrance of an old car accident injury (neck). Was laid up - 5 weeks off work, physio, specialists etc etc. But I'm sort of back now.

Had (got) my rigs folding - as they are just cpu based at the mo. Got issues with my water loop - inlet pipe to pump not up to the job.

Tip: don't use 8/10mm tube on an 18w pump.

Tube has more or less closed up - but pump is still powerful enough to keep it running. Temps stable @ 70c (i7 930 @ 4.3Ghz). Hence the lack of pic's.

So, first job on the cards is to purchase new tube & fittings, then redo the loop.

Unfortunatly, as I've been off work for 5 weeks money is a little scarce - so it may have to wait another 5 weeks or so :(

And the good news keeps rollin (NOT) - doesn't look like I am gonna be able to upgrade GPU's until after summer hols - so you're alll safe until September.

I hate not being able to buy shiny stuff :(

It's decidedly quiet around here - decided to shut everything down on Friday and haven't turned it all back on yet. Maybe I'm enjoying the quiet too much (currently no moving parts in the office - including the laptop I'm posting this from). Looks like the usual £2.50-a-day electricity bill won't be this month. :)

Don't worry - I'm sure normal service will return in due course.

My output will drop off next week for a month as I'm off to Japan (Woot!). Unfortunately some of the crunchers will have to be 'not-on' however, I'll be back mid-April to fire them up again.

Looks like we'll have to delay the trip. Although Virgin are flying into Narita (Tokyo) we don't feel comfortable with visiting whilst the Japanese people are suffering so. Seeking a refund on the airfare would probably mean a protracted battle with the insurance people. Virgin are insisting travel is ok (despite the FCO issuing an 'essential travel only' announcement) but will allow us to re-book for later. We are looking to delay until mid-April in the hope things are picking up by then.

I'm now very curious, I hope you don't think I'm being intrusive mate. Air or water? Have you tweaked the rig/cards and are you running any of the optimised apps? Impressive output. ;)

Heres my rig

SDC10060copy.jpg

And only running optimised apps running two units per card

GTX 470 is running at

Core - 775
Shader - 1550
Mem - 1570

GTX 260 is running at stock :(

And CPU is running at 3.6Ghz so not very fast at all :(

I'm running almost exactly the same kit with slightly higher output than Mr MarineIguana but have just started Einstein again in a bid to get a million on there. I've got the CPU on water which lets me run the GPUs at full pelt without melting everything.

The 470 has an annoying habit of crashing out just as Seti shuts down on a Tuesday, then errors out on all the accumulated Cuda units before I notice and I can't get any more work until B0rkeley comes back up. :( Hence switching to Einstein.

:) Thanks for the info guys, I must look take a little more in-depth look at my configs, I'm sure I must be able to squeeze more out of what I have running. ;)
