Sex After Marriage????

I'd date a girl who didn't want to have sex before marriage if I really liked her (and thought there was a chance of making it to marriage!). Are you a christian because if not I can't really understand the rationale behind the decision. Not having one night stands or short term relationships I can understand, but no sex before marriage full stop seems a bit pointless to me seeing how many divorces there are nowadays.

EDIT: As long as you aren't some weirdo who's freaked out by sex like that woman in On Chesil Beach!

Yep, im a Christian....:p I have been in near situtions with the guys I have been in relationships with (I'm human). Though, I do wish to keep my virginity until I'm married. :)

Well er yes it does. No sex, no kids. The problem is kids who are too young to fully understand the consequences or choose to ignore them feel no socials barrier to sleeping around.

Yes, sex causes kids. Wow. But only stupid sex causes kids and the people who are too stupid to use a condom are too stupid to abstain as well. So your argument that chastity would stop all these children is self-evident but unhelpful. Better education would stop these children from having unprotected sex. You can't stop them doing it but you can at least make it safe.

I'm probably going to get loled at by my real life mates who have accounts on here but...

I'm 20 and kinda think the same. I don't believe in Marriage because of how many fail. I think I know one mate who's parents are still together.

I just don't believe in sex unless it's a serious relationship. Never had a serious relationship so.... lol.

Would I date a girl with your thoughts. Of course. If marriage meant that much to her I would probably go for that as well.

But Megz, if I turn 30 and still haven't met the right girl. PLEASE let me look you up lol.

Yeah, you could look me up.....:p:p:p:p:p

I'm atheist, so i can't see why that view is relevant. Especially in todays world where jonny's are available. Back when the bible was made, if you bonked then you had kids, i think a family should stay together, so if your having kids be married, but you dont get kids when you bonk anymore.

Sex after marriage, that's when it stops.

I still get it every day, twice on a sunday and I've been married 28 years.
Top tip : The way to keep a bloke is to keep him sexually happy.

I'll tell you whats sad - last week I interviewed 61 x 13/14 year old girls and the first question I asked was "Tell me something about yourself, for instance, who do you live with?".
Only 2 girls lived with both their mum & dad.

No what I am saying is because casual sex is seen as totally socially acceptable; there are no fore thoughts to consequences because everyone’s doing it.

I'm a Christian, 23 years old, male. Lost my virginity with a girlfriend November last year, I wasn't her first and kinda felt this pressure to do it to keep her in a way. At the time I thought it was the right thing to do, but we broke up about February time. If I could take back any one thing I'd done in my life, it would be that.

There will be many people who'll tell you to do it, but you know if it's right for you or not, don't be pressured into doing something like that. If the person won't accept it or won't date you because of it, then are they really someone you're looking to date?

Yes there are people out there who'll wait, it's just a case of finding them.

Did you last longer than it took you too type all that?

But changing social mores is kinda hard, don't you think? You want government education films to say "Don't have sex at all! Then you won't get pregnant. Or get an STD. Or a council house. Or child benefit."

The world is the way it is and regretting it serves no purpose. I wish schools made every young girl look after a baby on her own for a day and a night. Feed it, wash it, listen to it scream until they realise they're not like the dollies they pushed around in pretend prams when they were three years old. But that isn't possible yet. So for the moment every school teaches kids about contraception and the reasons for needing to use it. Arguing for chastity as a way to prevent the underclasses from having babies is a waste of time.

How is that rhetorical? Are you denying the problems this country has?

I meant the part about religion being the answer.

Religion is the answer to those who've already found it. It's rarely the answer to those who aren't religious.

In other words, if you are chaste because you're a Christian, you won't agree that I think you're wrong. Religion is a matter of opinion. Human psychology isn't. It's fact and there's lots of it to prove that chastity isn't something you're going to be able to easily spread amongst the young girls too stupid to insist on a condom.

Sad state of affairs (pun not intended). :(

I never suggested religion is the answer. That was something you concocted yourself just to put it down. :/

I was simply saying that the basic idea of "they're going to do it anyway so lets give them condoms and encourage a healthy sexlife in teenagers" doesn't seem to work. Certainly not from a statistical point of view if nothing else.
