Should prohibition end?

If I may answer that... the main personal reasons for me:

- Ended my migraines...
- First discovered after a vehicle accident that damaged my knee and I don't like the side-effects/'hi' of morphine
- Ended up quite liking the feeling and the enhacements to sexual pleasure and eating are incredible
- Also, I'm quite intelligent (stupidly so - despite what some of you may think :p)... normally my mind never stops working on multiple ideas simulatenously and it gets quite annoying sometimes... it brings me a release from this and slows everything down for a bit

Bad side effect:
- Put on weight

but I'm doing something about that and improving my diet. Stoner snack now = carrot sticks and humus :)

I have a good job and contribute to society a frightfully annoying %age of my paycheque... my smoking never affects my work and I will never let it go that far, I would stop indulging before it ever affected my career.

I do it in the privacy of my own home always... will never drive stoned... normally won't even walk to the local shop... although may have accepted the odd delivery while under the influence... that's the most effect it has had on any person with respect to me.

Why am I a criminal?

Very mature and adds to the discussion nicely, well done.

It added about as much as you did.

Pretty much this. I suffer from some sort of generic anxiety, along with an overactive mind that is constantly on the go. As a result I get poor sleep, I find myself anxious and stressed and constantly worrying about all kinds of situations, and thinking about all sorts of ideas, concepts, and things.

It calms those thoughts. Allows me to actually relax and find some peace. I sleep better, and then calm/clarity that it provides ekes out into my normal life and I find myself to be at a better place, I presume due the fact that I've managed to actually rest, disconnect and put my life into a different perspective.

It brings me peace.

But obviously I am criminal scum.

It's just my opinion and it isn't going to change. I'm not going to spend ages on here arguing with people who put things like 'Stoned' in their username. On that topic, I'm pretty sure the OP is a returnee that I recognise who has started threads along these lines before.

It's quite clear from the previous posts that the OP won't listen to arguments and will deny them pretty quickly, and I have my head in the sand? Hah.

There are good arguments for and against cannabis, just like there are arguments against excessive use of alcohol.

I was deliberately brief in order to answer the OP's question and not invoke a massive argument, but that is often difficult here.

Of course you are entitled to your opinions, but it irks me when people are willing to make a clear statement and yet refuse to offer an useful information as to why they hold those opinions or evidence to support their claims.

Apologies if I came across harshly.

Robbo, could you perhaps offer some constructive argument against the legislation of cannabis?

It may be your opinion, but with no viable base, why subject others benefit due to your own personal misconceptions?

That's the kind of direct action on other people my choice doesn't have... at least let people have the right to choose for themselves?!

No problem, sorry to have irked you.

It would just be personal experiences of people I know, it wouldn't hold all that much weight here and I have no real issue with people using it as long as they have a good reason and are as responsible as they can be. Like yourself.

I dont deny' things you say, I disagree with the best part of them but not all.

I am not a returnee to this forum but I am glad to hear of another person spreading the good word..as it were.

We'll have to agree to disagree.
It's more the medicinal sides of Cannabis I want to see available to patients that actually need it, As much as we rely on the science, Our governments should act on the results given to them of tests they asked the scientists to perform. But no, Our government decides to ignor its scientific advisors and deny 10,000's ppl medicine because it wants to keep daily mail readers happy, Forget what the results stated which they insitgated!

Who care's what my forum name is? Is it cold up there on that high horse? Please dont judge a book by its cover.

Fact: grows his own cannabis
Conclusion: typical pothead who feels the need to tell everyone that he smokes weed as if it's some super cool thing

Do you also have a cannabis leaf tattoo that says 'I smoke weed LOLz'? Complete with weed t-shirt purchased from your holidays in Benidorm?

I see this a lot and just have to laugh.

Instead of assuming 1 to be a chav, Since I left school I have worked fulltime, I'm now in a managerial position and earning triple what I was 12 years ago.

Benidorm, No. Sydney, yes.

Who are you to judge me because I grow a few plants (side by side with my Tomato plants, Peas, Carrots etc)

Weed can induce vomiting, i've seen it a fair few times when people have too much and green out they sometimes vomit like crazy. No one can claim they smoke weed and not know about that. And no it was not covered by the media, odly enough wasn't really something we wanted to go public with.

I won't comment on the rest of the post (as it is obviously a shame it happened and I won't tell you you are talking rubbish when there is no real way if I could know or not) but I live in Holland and I smoke weed, as do many of my colleagues(not continuously no, but socially rather like I do with drinking alcohol). I have never seen anyone being sick because of smoking weed.

Ever.

Saying that, I hardly touch alcohol when I smoke weed. I'm thinking maybe your friend drank too much and it was a combination of the two (as you basically said).

Personally, I think it should at least be made legal for people who would make use out of it for medical reasons. I won't pretend I know the potential ramifications of making weed entirely legal but I do think the positives would outweigh the negatives. It is the same as most things in life... enjoy it but in moderation or prepare to face the consequences, just like with alcohol.

I really don't think legalising harder drugs would ever be a good idea though.

(And when I am back in the UK I don't touch it, wouldn't even know who to go to get it actually!)

.

There are numerous posters in this discussion with various irrelevant user names who have voiced their support for legalisation of light drugs such as cannabis, and some (myself included) who have voiced such support for it despite not being drug users.

Not quite sure where I mentioned "chav" - that wasn't what I was getting at. It just seems a lot of weed smokers seem to love advertising the fact as if anyone gives a damn (we really don't). Going by your name, you fall slightly into this category.

You're missing my point, entirely.
