*** Show us your bikes! ***

Admittedly didn't test the street. I thought about it, and on paper it's a better bike for my needs. But in my heart I wanted a speed, so bought one instead :)

I upgraded from an F800S, which only has 82hp but a relatively flat torque curve - I really wanted a similar style of power profile, and I believe the street's a bit more peaky. I've only had it since January, so only now getting to see what it's like on dry roads, but think it's fantastic. Handling and ride position is spot on for B road adventures and the engine is great.

Downsides? It's a little heavy I guess, think it's 215 wet. The full beam lights are a bit pants, and like most naked bikes, the mirrors are occasionally useless. These are all small usability things that don't really matter when you're buying one though. I do question the value of the R - yes, you get lighter wheels and better suspension, but not sure if it's worth it on the road. They do look great though.

Nothing wrong with the GPZ 9 fella, bloody lovely bike, friend of mine had one back in the 80s, well until he wrapped it round a tree, not his fault, he hit a pheasant. :p

I've had pheasant trouble in the past when I lived in Norfolk zapping around on my then little XJ600 Yam. I was peddling a little on the mad mile from Norwich to North Walsham and the thing flew up from the verge straight between my forks and all I saw in my mirror was like a feather bomb just exploded. Mad birds, it wasn't even night time.

I always hankered after a 900R since the early 80's and Top Gun had maybe only a little to do with it. My now ex brother in law and sister then had a Dream Machine painted one in A2 colour layout but instead this had black, blue and gold with gold wheels. It was a peach to look at and if I can find an image I'll post it somewhere.

My A1 has normal bars and the A2 has the raised US spec bars.

Got my first big bike a couple of weeks ago; a 2003 sv650 in amazing condition and only done 9k! Love the sound.

That is ******* Awesome not just Awesome but ******* Awesome. :p

My mates rebuilding his at the mo, Can't wait till he is out with us again so he can rattle my bones as he passes me.
Last time 2 of my mates had Dukes they shot past me then cut in front for effect as you do. :D
Anyways I was hit by loads of these little orange rock things

When I caught up with them at the meeting spot it turned out that the wadding in the back box was making Glass & firing it out at me. How ******** cool is that. :D

Also Fireblade where you taking it this weekend as we ain't that far from each other.
About time we had another Midland meet I reckon.

Not sure where I'm off to yet, I typically head out towards Bridgnorth, then onto Telford/Ironbridge for a coffee and a bacon sarnie if I'm hungry, or I'll sometimes go the other way from Bridgnorth out towards Clee Hill onto Bewdley and then back through Kidderminster via Stourport if I'm in the mood, both are a pretty good ride and have some nice roads.

Too early in the year yet to start heading out towards Barmouth, North Wales and so on but hopefully in a month or so that'll be back on the cards.

Midland meet sounds good too, I'd definitely be up for that.

I miss my 1098S!!!!!!

I had black wheels. Loved it, but it was a pig to ride slowly.

Yeah riding it slowly is a downside to the bike, it is horrid in traffic around town at 30 and 40 but once you get out onto the country roads you can open her up you quickly forget about the town torture lol
