Went out to Leominster today and met up with a few friends, really nice day for a ride out and really good to get back out for a proper ride on the GSXR again, so much fun!!!!!

First pic is off the phone, 2nd is from a decent camera! :p

Im a happy boy now :D

Where about in Leominster do you meet up, I know theres a bike cafe called Doms bike stop or something, but never got round to going there which is a shame as I only live down the road from there.

So... I did my first bike track day yesterday at Rockingham in the lovely March heat. it was EPIC, I loved every minute of it.

Here are some pics (excuse the GoPro stuck on my head lol)

Really impressed me though, they were so grippy and gave me so much confidence.

I filmed every session in full HD but I was gutted to find the camera angle was wrong so all I filmed was my bike and 10ft in front of me :( so gutted about that.

Overall though it was a fantasic day and I will be doing another for sure in the next couple of months. Best £60 I have every spent.

And where is the video?!

Will be doing a trackday soon with a gopro stuck to me too haha.

Yea I passed that on the way there!

We met at ok diner, quid a coffee isn't bad!

Will shout next time I'm heading over that way
:p

I got the angle wrong so no point in posting it.. it's only looking at max 10ft in front of me. :(

So my advice if you're planning on doing the same would be to do several test rides before the track day to get the angle just right. I didn't have time :(

Hehe, been there done that :(

I have the sticky pad located on my helmet now so that I just push the Hero back on the pivot as far as it'll go. I know that position is right. At least it was when I had the Gixxer... damn! :o

It was only £60?

Also, a salesman showing me leathers was telling me they must squeeze me and feel like a second skin, to the point it was almost hard to breath. Most people I see have relatively loose leathers. What's the deal? Tbh, it would pee me off to have them tight and uncomfortable.

They shouldn't be tight and uncomfortable, just tight and comfortable. If they are loose then they are more likely to bunch together if you bin it and rip, whereas if they are a tighter fit you'll just skid along on them!

edd1e, nice pics!

Morbius, what about the Triumph Daytona? I have no idea on it's stats but at least they look nicer than the GSXR's. (< my opinion! don't bite me:D )

Fantastic looking bike and tiny when your on it. But yet they have quite a high seat. The missus wanted one but she just couldnt touch down on it properly. No problem with any of the other 600s, even the 100s. Just the one she really wanted, the 675.

That would out sell the CBR and Ninja 125's if Triumph did a 125 Daytona!

I have seen a Triumph Speed Four but think it would be a very bad idea as a first bike so I am going to force myself to buy a 500cc (GS500, ER5) or possibly a Fazer600 or Bandit.

Just need my holidays authorised and to pass my theory to get on with my cbt and das. Saturday coming is going to be spent at Hein Greicke for a full set of gear. (using these as I dont have transport to get to another decent bike shop for kit)

This is me on the Daytona, at just over 6'1.
They are a gorgeous bike though.

Arrrggghhhh, seeing pictures like this (of the bike, not you, perv :p) makes me think "no, keep the trumpet", but part of my brain is still telling me "mmmmm, 1000cc nom nom nom", and a smaller part is saying "go on, you didn't give the gixxer 750 much time, get another" :D
