Show us your kitty cats

If anyone buys one will you let me know what it's like? The price seems too good to be true...

I wouldn't say its too good to be true.
Try checking out cat trees in a well known auction site and you get to know the true price of these items.

The problem is that commercial pet food sites put such a high mark-up on these items that people are trained to believe that these items are super expensive...when they are not.

The item listed in the link is good value. No doubt about it.
Too good to be true...no way.

justa quick heads up guys zooplus have some decent savings this weekend :)
Normally where I get most of my stuff other than wet food.

I've been doing a lot of reading on what is good wet food, and have some Granatapet and Macs ordered from overseas, what do you use and where do you get it from?

Wet food Im busy playin about with, they seem to dislike wet food other than felix sensations/AGAIL but I'm not too keen on feeding them this with it being like 4% meat.

Just took delivery of some of the Bozita chunks in jelly from zooplus,
Ingredients: 85% chicken, 4% turkey, pig, calcium carbonate, yeast

To me that looks far better than the felix ingredients :)

Dry food I've had them on Harringtons, only place I've seen it is asda, currently paying £3.88 or something for a 2Kg bag. Whilst not a super premium brand (afaik) still seems decent for the money.

Had previously tried them on that Hill's stuff, made them absolutely stink lol, theyd come up to you fart then run way >.<

They get ~50g of wet food each in the morning, ~50g in the evening and have dry food down at all times.

I do appreciate others might be feeding their cats stuff that's far more expensive but for me this stuff seems to keep them happy at the moment, we'll unless you open some ham at which point they'll both try and climb your legs to get the ham lol

I completely agree with sunama, when that tiger is fully grown they're in big trouble if it decides that its owners are no longer equals but food. I have seen a few documentary's with people owning large wild cats like these two idiots in the link and it always has a bad ending with someone getting killed. The only difference being a white tiger instead of a normal one.

A lion tamer once said that you can trust lions but you never turn your back on a tiger... tigers are solitary when adult, lions live in a pride so at least have a sense of society.

Well, yeah, I understand declawing isn't always best for the cat so it's out...

It's also illegal here. Good job too, anyone who can do something like that to a cat just to protect their furniture... well, just don't have a cat. Simple as that.

Fantastic pictures everyone, you're making me very happy and very sad at the same time. It's been a long time since my boy passed away, I'm in a small flat surrounded by busy roads and I figure it's not fair on them but damn, this thread is making it hard...

Tank and Pearly.

Pearly has a gammy eye, both off to the vets tomorrow!
:D I approve of this name, does he like to smash the iron?

Do bengal cats remain indoors when owned? Any Belgal owners able to say what they do with their cat?
Did you mean Bengal? You don't have to keep Bengals indoors, but it is wise to do so as the likely hood of them being pinched is quite high as they're a desirable exotic cat.

my 4 week old kittens, willow & frankie. We took in their mother (boo) 7 weeks ago, not knowing she was pregnant. Much was our surprise when she dopped out a couple of kittens. Never had a cat before, so its all a learning experience for us. The kittens are just now starting to explore the house & trying to climb everything

Are you keeping the kittens and mum?

They are lovely. Are you keeping them all? Our older cats were related and they had such a happy relationship together. Man that sounds gooey but they just did.

Do any Bengal cat owners allow their Bengal cat owners to roam the streets?
For the record, I've never seen any Bengal cats roaming the streets where I live. If I allowed my 2 cats out, I can't believe that they would last last more than a few days without being stolen.

Blimey. So you've gone from 0 cats, to 1 adult cat and 2 kittens. You will have to make a lot of changes to accommodate your the new arrivals.

yeah we are seriously thinking of keeping them all. I work long hours most days atm & the missus si home alone a lot of the time, which was the main reason for getting the cat. Now she is really starting to get attached to the kittens & I don't think I have it in me to make her give one or both away. Have spent today making the kitchen more kitten proof, tomorrow is the living rooms turn.

Do have a couple of questions if any one can help us out.

1/ how old should the kittens be when we start toween them off their mom & onto kitten food? We have already bought some kitten food (have wet & dry) & have some milk fomula stuff, just not sure when to start using it.

2/ are their any major issues with the kittens we should be looking out for?

You can start giving them a little helping of food at about 4-5 weeks and their mother will wean them about 8-12 weeks. They might start trying their mother's food a bit earlier than that but with our kitten (who came off his mother too early as he was abandoned) we had to provide a few incentives to eat like watering down food and mixing in some kitten milk. As their mother is there it should be a bit easier and they can start exploring food while their mother is weaning them.

We didn't have any major issues, just make their appointments for their jabs and the vet will check them over at the same time. Loads of handling is important when they are small to properly socialise them and make them feel at home and it stops bad behaviour too..but they look at home in that pic for sure!

yeah they have turned in to little attention seekers already. Thanks for the tips, will give them a try with some of the wet food in the next couple of days, see how they do.

Willow does appear to have an eye infection, so they are off to the vets by the end of the week for a check up etc
