Show us your kitty cats

+100 for the flying frenzy. They are awesome. They last ages too considering they get chewed, sucked and clawed.

I need to get some more refills. My two only seem to go for the ones with the feathers. Something about the noise it makes perhaps.

Huh you say that but my 2 MC's have already pretty much destroyed the feather attachement after 2 months lol. It was probably because I did leave it on the floor for a while and they have chewed it so that the big feather falls out of it  So looking on ways of fixing it but not sure I can use gaffa tape as they will chew it  It is an awesome toy though and gives my boys a good workout.

I have a query re: one of my cats and am hoping this thread will bring up some answers.

Basically, over the last few months, one of our cats has started defecating in the house intermittently. To give you some context, she is one of three cats, all Maine Coons. We have two brothers and then Ruby (the culprit). We took her from the breeder because she had to be spayed following failed litters and the breeder had no use for her. She is nervous and rarely approaches people but will on occasion let people approach her. They're outdoor cats with unrestricted access to the house. They have always done their business outside and we don't have a litter tray. They get on fine. Never fight (to our knowledge). In the past she has done this. We used to have a tom cat come to the house which used to upset her. To our knowledge he's not about any more. We live in middle of nowhere so there aren't many pets about.

Anyway, she tends to poo on the hob (induction) and wee on armchair. It isn't too common an occurrence but has increased in frequency dramatically recently. It's driving my parents wild and they're not the best pet owners and just want to get rid without trying anything :(. Most googling about this brings up results for house cats and talks about litter trays changing etc. which obviously isn't applicable. She seems happy enough in the room where this is happening. We have a 6ft cat post with three beds on it and she always sleeps in the middle one completely at ease. We think she likes the view it gives her over the room (see pic below of bed).

Does anyone have some suggestions/experiences of this kind of behaviour? I've ordered some Feliway spray and a diffuser and aim to spray the cooker and chair with it to try and change her attitude towards them. It is just those two spots and they're cleaned very thoroughly after accidents. She has been locked out of the living area recently and has spent her time downstairs (bedrooms, upside down house) and she hasn't done anything down here. As a matter of fact, she's never done anything in these rooms and often sleeps on one of the beds.

Edit: Here she is. Also one of her with Seb and Button sleeping on my bed - there are pictures of them a few posts up from here.

I'll post some pics when I'm home, but any advice?

I have two cats, both neutered.

Jess, approximatley 3 year years old, around 3.5 kilos and Oscar approximately 4 and a half years old, 4.5 kilos. I've had Jess for two years and Oscar for about 6 months. They've never been pals, but they could tolerate each other, however recently Oscar has started to get more bullying - taking Jess's chair, blocking her access to other spaces (though not food, and he never stops her from eating his food instead of her own)

He's more boisterous and tries to play fight, which I think Jess interprets as real fighting.

Any advice on getting him to calm down and give her some space?

I'm going to be plugging the feliway diffuser back in, and trying to shoo him off her chair when I see him there, and I try to distract him with toys if I notice that he about to pounce on Jess (which always works and is why I think he's trying to play rather than real fight - I'm guessing a cat intent on actual violence wouldn't be as easily distracted).

I don't want to have to rehome him, as I like them both but Jess was here first (and he'd have an easier time being rehomed due to being ginger and quite charismatic rather than Jess who is black and white and a little bit bitey)

Do the feliways actually work?

Rehoming sounds a bit drastic for what sounds like something they'd just work out themselves. Unless one was getting really hurt then I wouldn't be too concerned.

Sounds a bit like what I go through with Felix and Puddle. Felix takes command everywhere. Always wants the most attention etc and when Puddle tries to step in he gets bullyish. There's never been bad fighting but it sounds horrendous and cat fluff everywhere usually. It's been better recently but I think he tries to play fight and she gets very defensive and then that turns him in to a ragey

Welcome Barnaby to our household. We lost our male cat who was 16 last year and the girls haven't been the same since.

Can already tell he will be a menace!

How have your cats been recently with fireworks?
Whiskey (now 6 months) isn't bothered by the bangs, but the screamers have him pinned down under the bed :(

Hugo (above, typically the boisterous one) doesn't like the bangs.

Floyd (generally the fraidy cat) doesn't seem to mind, other than one that went off very nearby this week.

Surprising which one was more scared but its the same with the hairdryer and hoover.
