UGH! Fireworks! Seriously, why are they even allowed for personal use?
Absolutely terrified one of my young ones last night.
I was stupid, I might add. I wasn't expecting too many fireworks because the 5th is a Sunday, so I thought everyone would wait for Sunday. Nope. The surrounding idiots decided to let loose two days early. I wasn't prepared and Jeremy absolutely panicked. The poor thing thought that the fireworks were inside the house, so he ran out, only to be greeted with worse.
Oddly, my other cat, Emily, sat outside watching them. A little scared at first, but then thought they were rather interesting. She is a very curious cat, and as long as I am close she figures it's safe. Jeremy on the other hand took four hours to calm down.
Well, the cat flaps will be locked tonight. Firework night is miserable for many pet owners.

Agreed, we had some last night, my two slept through it not sure how.

At only a few months old this will be their first so I’ll be keeping an eye on them.

They’re booked in at the vets next week for their health check and worming etc, they are both seemingly doing so well.
 
Agree as well, kinda.

I don't have an issue with personal use but they should be for usage at prescribed times/dates. So pet owners can react accordingly.

I already predicted last night, tonight and tomorrow to the other half.

We had some last week as well though, like last Monday. Why!?

I find there is real benefit to getting kittens used to human noise. I used to let Emily sit in my workshop, always under supervision of course, and she had to go out when I was using anything dangerous, but she got used to vacuuming and drills at a very young age. She is now immune to human noises, whereas Jeremy, who I didn't have as a kitten, is terrified of them.

Yeah I’ve been trying to get them used to it as much as I can, they’ve heard drills, sanding, hoovering and they’re getting there. Tilly doesn’t really care, Jess is getting there, she used to be scared of the toilet flushing bless her :D

Of all the cats I have had over the years, I have never seen a reaction as bad as Jeremy's. If it wasn't a Saturday, I would have popped to the vets to get some mild sedatives for him.
I have a stray that visits who is capable of tearing a cat flap apart, so I made a wooden door that can be closed over the cat flap. Thank heavens I did. Makes me a feel confident I can stop Jeremy running outside in a wild panic.

Ember has recovered well from her surgery, but i've just noticed a big bald spot on her side which I'm sure wasn't there yesterday, so back to the vet tomorrow :(
 
Bella can't keep anything down :( She would only ever eat Felix DD, and now - not sure if they've changed the recipe - but she keeps throwing it back up. Without fail, every time.

She literally won't eat anything else, tho. I keep putting other stuff down, she ignores it and begs for Felix. Eats the Felix, pukes it up. Rinse and repeat.

I'm not taking her to the vet. She went there recently (earlier this year), I got a £1000 bill, and they said they couldn't find anything wrong. But they could "refer me to a more qualified specialist vet". Oh, so I paid £1000 for what exactly, then? Still quite ****ed about that.

Felix has always been utter crap, even when she could keep it down. But I swear she will not eat anything else. I have no idea what they put in that junk that completely binds the cats to their will and makes them crave it. Been through the whole spectrum of everything you can buy on the internet. Will not eat any of it.

Really at my wits end.
