I don't disagree, but I wanted a short plate for the rear (where it's bodywork mounted rather than in a daft pre shaped plastic molding like the front).

Front plate was a GB plate with an annoying extra half inch on the bottom of the plate with the dealer website on it. Ideal world id order a plain front plate in default width, but I've just not bothered yet. The black bit is only vinyl, tried it with grey to match the grille and that looked worse than the black. Might see what it looks like with the white reflective vinyl I have that matches front number plates.

Yeah, when you've got a full size mounting plinth like that, anything other than a full size plate on it looks out of place.

It's a shame we have to have front plates... sooooo many cars (especially modern ones with aero improvements) look so much better without them :(

They fade into the TT and VW well.

But that S3 would look so much cleaner without any front plate.

Bought by myself a fairly bargainous barge.

Import Skyline 350GT-8.

Yes I know, not a proper Skyline! But it is basically a 350z hiding under a boring saloon body for really very little money.

3.5l v6, 272hp, extroid cvt gearbox with flappy paddles. 71,000km, fresh import, a few little jobs to do - most of which I've fixed already. I have to say I quite like it so far! The cvt is super smooth, the engine sounds great, it's comfy and there's a little Japanese lady hiding in the centre console who wishes me an enjoyable journey whenever I start her up! As long as the gearbox doesn't explode too soon it'll have been a bargain at £1750.

Very nice! Did you import it yourself?

Bought it from the guy who imported it, he'd had it about a month while getting the paperwork and mot sorted.

Nice any interior pics?

Just one. It's got some fairly horrific wood trim that might need wrapping at some point, but the seats are nice and there's acres of leg room and head room.

Factory reverse camera on a 2003 car! That must be one of the first cars ever fitted?

Edit: other than a few test cases it seems the first proper mainstream use was the 2002 Infiniti Q45 which I believe is this car?

Very cool.

Why did the importer sell? Can't imagine he made much if you paid less than £2k!

It's hideous as sin, but probably goes well. Enjoy!

Q45 was the Nissan Cima, this was sold as the V35/G35.

I think he had a wedding to pay for. It was a terrible ebay listing, no model name, potato photos and he didn't even have the v5 through from the dvla at that point. No other bidders!

The car is unlikely to become a design classic I know, but it does genuinely look miles better in the flesh than most photos. Honest! And yeah, it goes all right :D
