Wife bought one of these. Seems decent enough and she’s happy which makes my life easier! TT was starting to throw up some expensive issues. She’s already noticing the lack of grip in comparison though.

Really? What tyres are on it? :p

Or is she a speed demon? :D

Noticing the lack of grip in a car renowned for its handling vs a car that's renowned for its poor handling?!

It’s all relative though - the TT will be compared to cars of a different class to the mini. Quattro and wide tyres in the damp/cold vs skinny tyres with 2 wheel drive.

Skinny tyres? I doubt there is much difference at all in tyre width. They look like the 17 inch wheels which are 205 width, the standard wheels on a MK2 TT were 215 width? In the real world probably of no noticeable difference at all.

I can't say I have ever noticed a lack of grip in the Mini, so I echo the comments about crap tyres. The TT isn't even full time 4wd anyway.

255 on all four corners of the black edition TT vs 205 on the mini. That’s enough to make a huge difference.

If you're finding grip issues on the Mini something is wrong. What make and model of tyres are fitted to it? I'm no stranger to the grip properties afforded by additional tyre width as my other car has 275 width tyres on it. There is something else at play here.

If the Mini does have decent tyres on it then I have to worry about how it's being driven if you're overwhelming 205 width decent tyres in a car with just 140bhp

Fwd 205 width vs 255 awd width yeah fair enough.

Probably just losing traction slightly out of junctions and stuff which she's not used to :p
