One of the frustrating things about Nissan - got half alcantara, half leather seats, some soft-touch stitched effect materials, etc. then the base of the central console and some other bits is cheap scratchy hard plastic which just rattles and creaks and completely undoes the rest. Just a little more effort albeit cost I guess and it would really take it up a notch.

Nice clean Qashqai, what a beast!

Hah I've seen people replace the LEDs in the dash and cluster to be all white or other colours, it's crazy and I think to myself "how do you not get distracted at night by those colours?!" -

I thought it was green?

Red preserves our night vision, because of the lower frequency and thus fall-off. Your eyes can adjust far quicker to red light.
Night vision (goggles) are green because the green cones of your vision can perceive more varieties/shades of green than any other colour. Easier to see/perceive objects in green than any other colour.

Green was an American thing wasn't it, especially Ford but also others like Vauxhall?

I was thinking more like night vision, planes and Saab's :p. Red is better for retaining your vision in the dark but green lights give more clarity at a lower brightness whilst still maintaining night vision which is what you want when trying to read buttons at night.
