Show Us Your Motors!

Last pictures before I strip the whole thing down. Nearly 11 years of ownership now but needs shocks rebuilding (Teins need to go back to Japan for rebuild 6 week lead time!) and gearbox rebuilding as it is starting to whine. Whilst the engine is out going to nut and bolt the underside with tinted raptor bed liner. Respray the engine bay and a full respray as the lacquer is going everywhere which is typical of 90's JDM. I have everything I need I just need to crack on now.

Been putting it off for 2 years but my youngest is going to nursery now so have plenty of time on my hands now!

Some time out of country, some real funny/cool things. Chinas domestic market is nuts. My colleague out here in Beijing bought a Polestar 2 for £24k brand new! There were literally tonnes of EVs everywhere; and the mopeds were 99% electric. Very cool to see the progress in such a short amount of time; but unfortunately all the grotty dirtbag fun places have been replaced with Westfields like places.

Almost every car was a long wheel base variant:

One for @mid_gen --- I'd wager 3 in 10 cars were Alphards/the variants. Lots of mega top end ones.

And some badass Crown taxis. Haven't seen any newer than this! For @grudas ...

Donington track day yesterday in the 420R, was pretty epic and zero issues, shocked at how fast it was, pretty much flat down through Craners at 115mph and 120mph on back straight, really not bad at all for 200HP, unfortunately my GoPro was struggling to record the battery kept trying to escape, so trying to bundle together the few short clips I have, but had some decent pictures sent through:

Excuse the photo overload but they sent me like 60 photos as I spent a lot of time out on circuit. I only came back in on one stint because I'd emptied an entire tank of fuel in one stint, was out for around 40 minutes.

Having only done Curborough before which is a low speed circuit and in the wet I was quite nervous about going to high speed circuit like Donington and amongst plenty of very fast Porsche GT3 and GT4's but to my astonishment I had nothing to worry about, easily the best handling car I have ever driven by a million miles, it is so planted and adjustable it is unreal, the only area I could improve on greatly is braking, as it was pretty easy to lock them up, can't just bury the pedal like I could in the Lotus or one of the supercars, threshold braking is very critical and a fine line, but zero off's and driving around the Porsches like they were not moving and passing the Exiges, car was so quick. Zero issues as well and tyres and brakes zero wear, advantage of a 600kg car.

Awesome little thing and epic conditions, a bit hot to be suited up with helmets but a quiet track day with only one red flag, I was buzzing so much the adrenalin was flowing and I did over 100 miles on circuit. :D

Off to pick the new car up in about 20 minutes. Having never owned a brand new car before am I right in thinking I need to drive sensibly for the first few hundred/thousand miles? Or is that not needed that much in this day and age?
