Show Us Your Motors!

I never have understood why the 210/225 variant of the 1.8T had the intake manifold the opposite way around when compared to all the other 1.8T variants

Looks tidy though Phil :) And love the Forge FMIC, Forge Motorsport have far too many shiny bits I want to buy!

It's got the 007p too but can't be bothered to photograph it! Got the receipt for the Intercooler from the previous owner.. Just shy of £700

nice pics Gustov.

Lovely mate, how are you finding it? :)

Wouldn't mind MSN'ing/emailing if thats ok? :)

I never have understood why the 210/225 variant of the 1.8T had the intake manifold the opposite way around when compared to all the other 1.8T variants.

The 210/225 has twin sidemount intercoolers one on each side and the lower power versions only has the one on the drivers side. If they hadn't swapped it when the higher power version came along they would need another run of pipework back across the front of the car.

If only they had just used a decent FMIC, the two tiny side mount (they aren't really side mount, seeing as they face the front of the car) are rubbish. One decent FMIC would have meant they could use the same intake manifold :p

Yeup the sidemounts are rubbish my friend had a ko4 turbo on his Leon Cupra and got a 45c drop in intake temps when he fitted a Forge FMIC allowing the timing to be advanced to gain another 20-25bhp. At least they fitted a FMIC across all the 2L TFSI engines.

If "they" is VAG, then "they" didn't. My A6 has a single, rubbish side mount behind the foglight.

Didn't know the A6 had a side mount intercooler strange considering the Golf/A3 etc get a FMIC as standard on all tunes of the engine. That will be holding back your remap explains why the figures you mentioned were on the low side for a remapped 2L TFSI.

Yep, and because of the fact that all the other platforms with the engine have an FMIC, it's very difficult to find an FMIC for the 4F A6 platform.

Probably why at stock the A6 only makes 170PS rather than the 200PS from the other applications of the engine.

Raymond the missus has just picked up a yaris and it doesnt have an aux port. Is it possible to add one or is the wiring not going to be there? Its an 06

Mine don't either, i just have to live with it...

Or get a iPod radio broadcast thingy for £10, sound sucks compare to AUX though :(

I am the kind of person who can live with the same CD on repeat for months so it's not a deal breaker but an AUX would be nice.

I haven't looked into retro fitting an AUX without changing the stereo unit. However, i have looked into retro fitting bluetooth, which something call the Parrot? It is a few hundred pounds to get it down at a dealer so I figure I'll suck it up 6 more months and make sure I get an AUX in my next car.
