Hey, I passed my test a month ago and seen as my dad owns a car garage I got on the traders policy, so I can drive any size car I want for pretty much nothing. So he got me a Golf 2.0 GTI Mk4 in black, just waiting now for my new 4" Sportex back box to arrive, keeping it till Christmas and then getting something else. Lovely car though, sticks to the road and really nippy, and its nice to hold bragging rights that I just passed my test and jumped right into a 2.0, also drove a 3.2 Mercedes the other day XD. Here is my baby.

Nice, although I thought motor trade insurance only worked if you was on a test drive of the vehicle?

Great engine in the R32, the V6 makes a nice sound too. Any mods?

Stock for now. The VW dealer has been fantastic, touching up a few bits, removing my old Bluetooth kit, full service inc Haldex and replacing the front chrome grille as it has a small crack all FOC.

Should be a nice upgrade from my Golf TDI 140!

Engine size is largely irrelevent though, especially as this particular car has 114bhp, which is about the same as most 1.6 litre engines.

It's a nice enough car, but I'd just be happy with it for what it is rather than thinking it gives you 'bragging rights' for being 'a 2.0'. It's like me saying I have bragging rights for passing my test and jumping right into a 1.9 TURBO. But it was a 92bhp diesel :D Also why fit a backbox to a car you intend to keep for only 2 months?
