he has had it queued up on Ctrl+C for a while i'll bet :p

If you fitted £35 tyres to a Clio then you will not have been fitting premium brands now will you, so it is safe to conclude that you in fact do not care too much about safety. :)

mrs rjk just had some new tyres on her clio. £35 nets premium brands at that size.

admittedly not fitted but in honesty there isnt much in it. [wish my tyres cost £35 :(]

P6000s don't count. ;)

But seriously...from a quick look they are £50+ for decent brands (although I had a random guess at which tyre size as was given about 4 options). So I stand by the comment, for now. :)

Stupidly my Mondeo tyres in 16" cost £80 for decent tyres, but on the E30 the same in 15" are £110. :(

Yes you have, 'show us your motors!' thread implies that you get to post pictures off your cars, not post a picture of your car and then have people judge you. If you don't like the car then fair enough i do and luckily for me that's all that matters.

I agree. I think some people who are into their cars genuinely don't realise just how little some people care about cars and this comes across as being quite nasty or hostile. It's an alright car, watch out for the tyre costs because those alloys are 18's and premium tyres will be around £130 a corner. I'd recommend staying away from those "cheaper tyres" you mention.

As all tyres need to meet minimum safety guidelines then i very much doubt they're unsafe

Yes, these are very stringent indeed. I believe the latest guidelines state that tyres must be black, have rubber in them and be circular in shape.

Further to this they only got driven on the mrs daily commute to work which is about 3-5 miles with max speed of 40mph.

Exactly. Everybody knows accidents don't happen under 40mph and until you are at least 5 miles from home.

How do you know they're fakes? If there's a way to check i'll take a look when the mrs is in from work.

Depends on how good the fakes are. Have a look around for a VW stamp.
