How did you find your CL65 keyless or did you not have that long enough to notice?

Heh, it wasnt keyless start amazingly! Maybe not an option with the Japanese spec ones?

p.s. I have not seen another for sale since I sold it.. over a year ago.. so I kind of regret that now inspite of the issues and repair costs :(

Fantastic buy - drive her gently and she'll do you good :)

Picked up my new car yesterday. It's an MG ZT 160+ 1.8T.

'54' plate
Ignition blue
67k miles
3 months tax
10 months MOT (no advisories)

Car has all the usual + extras such as ATC dual zone climate control, electric rear windows, boot mounted “lip” spoiler ect, but in addition to this it has the message centre highline instrument pack, power-fold mirrors and heated front seats.

Receipt present for an up-rated multi layer head gasket, timing belt, water pump, inlet & exhaust gaskets and thermostat in 2011. It has the orange clip fitted to the fuel filter housing and also fitted is a metal T on the coolant hose to replace the fragile plastic one. Amongst many other receipts is one for a new exhaust system also in 2011. Service indicator showing over 8,000 miles until the next one is due.

Bodywork is in excellent condition and can’t see any dents or scratches. All front bulbs have been upgraded to either LED or Xenon. All four 18" gridspoke alloys have recently been refurbished along with new bolts and centre caps and there’s a receipt for £290 for this work. New rear discs and pads fitted and all 4 tyres are new.

Interior is spotless with no wear to the seats and it has the rare grey marble effect dash inserts. It has the factory fitted Kenwood stereo which is connected up to the 6 CD multi-changer in the boot with working steering wheel controls although i'll be putting in my Pioneer system shortly.

The car is a stunning example and has been lovingly cared for by the previous owner and the receipts that came with it total more than £1600, which is pretty much what I paid for it. The 80 mile trip home in it was a pleasure and the car felt fantastic with the computer showing 37.5 MPG for the journey.

31 mpg around town? Yea, right.

what so unbelievable about that?

Had a ZT before and was getting around 210 miles out of 31 litres, mainly town driving over a period of 8 months. That's 30.8 mpg and this new ZT looks to be about the same.

The guy I bought it of averaged 35 mixed over a year. These cars are not as bad on fuel as some people think.

It's a big car but it's only a 1.8 mind.

Some would say it would be harder to get good MPG around town out of a big car with only a 1.8 in it as you'll have to give it a fair rev to get it going where as a big 3 litre would pull away on tick over. ;)

The 1.8 will also be under a lot more stress over it's life than a larger engine in the same motor.

Not doubting what you posted just saying. :)

Ok, well I should state my 'round town' in is not all town, but I wouldn't say it was a mix either.

These are the official numbers for the car:

Fuel consumption (urban) 24.8 mpg
Fuel consumption (extra urban) 45.6 mpg
Fuel consumption (combined) 34.9 mpg

I'd say my 31 odd mpg was about spot on for the route I use :)

Its not that people doubt it as such, it is more the fact that MPG averages are so varied to the extent that a single user figure with a description of "being around town" are meaningless.

This leads to the guy who does 2 miles every day from cold in heavy traffic thinking that your figure is comparable with his.

And this is the problem with people shouting out MPG figures, town driving means just that, stop start, traffic lights, junctions, queues, time spent with the engine running and not moving.

I suspect your actually town MPG will be closer to 20mpg than 30+, the 31mpg figure you quoted is probably better than a 118d efficientdynamics, or similar.

OK fair play.

I retract my statement and amend it to "I get around 31 MPG" WHICH I DO and i'll drop the "around town" part just to keep the peace ;)

Didn't know the term "around town" was such a hot topic :)
