That's exactly what I thought too Im afraid.

I wonder how long they have been working on this. I suspect not very long since it really just looks like a skinned Civ 5 rather than a brand new game design from scratch. A spiritual sequel to AC deserves no less.
 
This game will be nothing like AC sadly, no terraforming etc. I'd bet, no sea bases, no unit designs and so on.

But I'm OK with that, I had lots of fun in Civ 5 and I'm going to buy it on release even though I know it won't be as in depth as AC.
 
Unfortunately it is not going to be close to AC and yes it is going to be a re skin of Civ5 , Graphic mods are the only thing Firaxis are any good at these days they have lost the ability to program and develop.
 
I'm not sure about plummet but I'm sure it will drop after a short while like most PC releases, I'm sure there will be a bargain for those willing to wait as always, though as one of the very few games I'm actually looking forward to I don't think I can.
 
I would love to buy this, but looking at the first actual gameplay video, I cant help but feel that I am paying for a reskinned version of Civ 5, obviously I haven't played this yet, but from what I can perceive, it just doesn't feel different in anyway.

That's not to say Civ 5 is not a great game, on the contrary I love Civ 5...

I don't know, I hope Im proven wrong and that you will all make me jealous that you have purchased the game at 22 quid odd and I will have to fork out 30 quid soon after release date.

I've no doubt they've used Civ 5 as a base as after BNW it's became one of the best strategy games ever but there's loads new they've added or changed such as affinties, the tech web, adaptive quests, ai alien races etc.

I wouldn't worry though, Firaxis always make very good strategy games. I mean in the last 15 years the the only games that "OK" were Pirates and Railroads.
 
Don't know why a reskinned Civ V would bother me anyway (despite the fact it's just a buzz term) because of how much I love Civ V.
