Sigma 35mm f1.4....?!!

Wherever is cheapest :p Don't think prices have shifted recently either though.

Such a good walkabout wide angle lens for this kind of thing.

Also just an observation, at Brands Hatch I saw nobody with the Sigma 35mm yesterday. A lot with the 24-70 2.8L and the rest were Sigma teles and kit lenses along with the enthusiasts with 100-400 range Ls and Nikkors but saw nobody at all with the Sigma 35 during the pit walks!

Nice shots mrk, they've helped me make a decision on buying one :) I'm going to sell my 50, as I reckon it can only be a matter of time that it's added to the art line.

Thanks!

Surprising how much can be in focus at 1.4, means you can make quite good use of DOF :)

For a pitwalk I'd either take my 50 1.4 or 24-105 I reckon. Can't believe how much joy you're still getting out of that lens though :p just with a 50 seems pointless

Ta!

I cant afford the sigma so would the Canon 35mm f2 be a good choice?

Ken Rockwell (:D) seems to think it has ok to poor bokeh at f2 for anything in the BG when focus subject is 3 metres away so seems it's only really gain is when focusing on things closer than 3 metres. The 100% crop sample on his site shows the optics producing fringed bokeh which looks quite bad!

For the price though I suppose it can't be knocked, f2 and IS as well.

Versatile lens for almost all situations with focus speed to match expectations :)
