Do Onestop still not deal with returns on back focus etc?

"Please note that we do NOT offer replacements if you find your lenses to have back-focussing, front-focussing or soft-focussing problems."

though if its just a small back focus that can corrected with MA then its ok, but the problems seem to be inconsistency.. not just a constant back/front focus

i know that more people will post of forums with problems than with good feedback so its probably a very very small percentage of people

Think i will stick with Canon and pay more

im sure canon have their bad copies too and from what im reading the sigma is better than the canon and much cheaper too

worth the risk for me, lots of people are saying how much they love this lens

also, you can buy from a supplier that does let you exchange them if your not happy, if you want to pay slightly more

I see, not had any such issues with mine, no MA needed on any Sigma lens I've owned. Canon L on the other hand...different story :p

So yeah, even canon have their share of lens flaws.

It's not just the lens, it can be the camera too. The tolorences for the accuracy is so tight that an micro here or there from anywhere in the lens barrel to the mount to the fixture of the sensor can cause front or back focus issue. It takes 2 to tango, and the shallower the dof you can do with a lens the more evident this problem is.

Yeah lens can be off, and so can a body. Sometimes that can cancel out, sometimes it makes it worse!

Also because of the affordability of Sigma lenses, you do get a lot of people shooting with a wide aperture lens for the first time. My favourite is when they complain of front focusing issues, yet when they post a test shot you can see they are shooting from an elevated position to the test target. So of course the in focus floor will be nearer due to the angles at play...

Yeah there are plenty who have sold the 35L for the Sigma. I'll be buying mine in the UK as my 1Ds2 doesn't have MA and I like the 3 year manufacturers warranty. It's about £90 extra, but worth it for me.
