I got the same email too @Dj_Jestar a week or so ago and another one yesterday, just blocked and deleted it.
It looks like version 2 of the machine should be great, few annoyances with this first version it seems.I see that Ninja are releasing a coffee machine. Looks intriguing, but will have to wait for more reviews I think.
Hoffs got some competiton from Kier Starmer now.he's never come across as a "whining wimpy sounding guy".
1. You mean the one shared a few posts back? https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/t...o-make-espresso-thread.17887005/post-37378568I look forward to the Ninja being reviewed by the world champion barista coffee lesbian. His reviews are pretty comprehensive.
1. I missed that from the post and his channel. Thanks.1. You mean the one shared a few posts back? https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/t...o-make-espresso-thread.17887005/post-37378568
2. Why the homophobia? Makes you look like a ****.
I'm thinking about retiring/repurposing my Rancilio Rocky. I've never been super happy with it, and have never really been able to stall Silvia even at the finest setting (burrs chirruping) and it has a fair amount of grind retention (1-1.5g). I've done a few upgrades over the time (step-less grind mod, got it tilted at 35° forwards to reduce grind retention, shimmed the burrs, ptfe taped the threads). I'm certain the burrs probably need replacing (had the grinder ~14 years) but I'm not sure that will solve the issue. Thinking about just using the Rocky for pour over/filter and getting a new grinder.
I know that "stale" coffee will flow quicker, but I'd still expect a grinder to grind fine enough using supermarket coffee to stall my machine tbh. (Pressure is at 9 bar, tested using the outflow/hot-water-pump-with-valve-shut/30 sec technique.)
I'm considering the Niche Zero or the DF64 Gen 2 - don't really mind buying second hand if there's a saving to be had. I primarily drink espresso (no milk added), but I've been leaning toward Americano because of the high output of the coffee. Any thoughts?
Cheers.
Can you do any better than the ninja at around the £550 mark, either a similar all in one machine or separate grinder / espresso machine?
£250 for a grinder / £300 for an espresso machine doable? Or too low?
Tried that. Deep cleaned the grinder, pulled all the burrs out, replaced the felt washer, nothing jammed at all.You can pick the fellow opus for just under £200 which is apparently great value for its performance.
I'd be tempted to give the barista a good going over with a hoover through, its likely just something gunking up the mechanism
