SimCity V (2013) - screens/artwork and information

Did the tutorial and thought it looked great. Can't start single player at the moment.

Came across a video of the original on the Amiga, remember it like yesterday :p

Just played an hour and I need more. The city size feels fine to me, not the sprawling metropolis of SC4 but my city feels much more alive and involving with SC5. Will be very tempted to pick it up, although not at lolEA prices.

After trying it a few times I think its reasonably good, what will annoy players wil be the depending on the online element and i felt every time i played it that the areas in which to build a city where far to small.

Looks like I'm out of luck - off to Homebase shortly to buy some bits for an afternoon of DIY... didn't really want to buy without giving the beta a go, does anyone know if there's talk of a demo version once it's released?

The one thing that annoyed me was that when you go to region view, it looks like there will be big empty gaps between the towns.

I don't know if it will look like that in all regions. But since the town is small enough as it is, this makes it look even smaller.

Just had a blast playing for an hour then. In the last few minutes I got hit by a tornado too xD Took a pic of my small city but not sure if I'm allowed to upload images from beta so will refrain.

I do want to get this, but is there anywhere where it's at a good price? I want the british roads too... but at £65 that's a total ripoff!

The 'Rainforest' was only £35 half the price of the Origin version.

Can't believe I actually googled 'the rainforest' at first.

LOL.

But that's the limited edition, not the deluxe one with the extra country sets.

Saying that though, just had a look at what they actually are... and that is not worth the extra money. Just 3 landmarks that make your buildings around it more to that style. Plus a few extra missions/achievements. No thanks, not at an extra £20.

I built Block-O-Land, with some *extra* money, but didn't get the full hour to see if I could beat 10K residents.

Ive never played Sim City before, i do like the look of this though and from watching youtube beta videos im pretty convinced ill get it. Couple of questions though, is the city in the beta the largest you can get? I know there has been lots of complaints about the smaller map sizes but im unsure if the beta size is a smaller scale than the final game.

Other thing, does anyone know if you can ditch the residential side of your city? I mean if you made your city a huge tourist attraction, would it be possible to concentrate purely on commerce based on the income from tourists rather than people living there? I just think that it would make a more interesting city as the space you would need for housing could be replaced by more cool attractions and shops. Its probably something you wouldn't find out until the game is released i guess, but was it possible in the previous games?

Pre-ordered from Z (not sure if allowed to mention on here, keep forgetting) with 5% discount code off a voucher site for new signups, making it £29 :)
