Singapore Grand Prix 2013, Marina Bay - Race 13/19

Bahhhaaaaaa that is just to funny, can only assume you never watched f1 back then. He was very much hated by a large percentage of fans and actually did wrong stuff unlike Vet, like deliabretly cause two crashes for a start.

Yes 'fans' that never went to races whilst, as someone else mentioned, the stands were packed out with Schumacher and Ferrari fans.

Sure, it might have been dangerous, but we have seen it happen loads recently, yet this is the first time the FIA have handed out penalties. Its the FIAs complete lack of consistency that is making them a complete laughing stock.

Its as if they just have a tombola of penalties in the stewards office and randomly allocate them to whoever they feel like.

Webber and Hamilton have several entries each into this tombola :D

Lol again, cluless spri ngs to mind. Germans and rbr fans love vet.

It is no different.
MSC was universly hated outside of his fan base.

Reasons i hate Vettel.

1, he's a spoilt brat
2, he's a child
3, he's a spoilt brat
4, he thinks he is the best and has an arrogance about him when Alonso nearly beat him twice to the championship with a much inferior car on both occasions.
5, im not a RB or Vettel fan.

He had a much bigger fanbase, really really huge. Vettel doesn't seem to be liked by many, Schumacher was ruthless and unapologetic. Vettel is a snivelling little tart that tries to be liked, but isn't.

When you mean huge fan base, you mean the tifose. Wo are still about and suport ferrari.

Grandstands are hardly empty.

Yeah Vet really wants to be liked, i think youb guys have made that up. He's very much got an air of I dont care i'm wining. Just look at his remarks to booing.

Absolute rubbish. It wasn't an ideal place to do it, sure, but come on 'utterly utterly outrageously' you want to go over the top a little more? Christ the kids throwing themselves down stairs on skateboards are putting themselves in more 'danger'.

Jesus the world is H&S mad. He knew a risk, he took a risk, nothing happened.

He was within inches, literally inches of Rosberg who almost smacked him and almost smashed into the back of Alonso... sorry but a kid throwing themselves down the stairs is not even 1/10th as dangerous as running onto a track around a corner in which no one can see you with oncoming traffic at probably 50-70mph.

It looks slow because they aren't doing full speed down the straights and they are cruising, they are still going fast. It's the equivalent of running onto a motorway to jump in a car except around a sharp bend.

It's utterly ridiculous, he put himself, Alonso(well he also puthimself in danger) Hamilton and Rosberg in danger, all because he didn't want to wait 5 more minutes to get back.

At the end of a straight where cars can see you, no problem, drivers going 50-70mph down there will have plenty of time to see them, around a freaking corner... insane, utterly utterly stupid. Hamilton and Rosberg both reacted and one of them still almost hit him within inches. Frankly what I found most ridiculous is that Webber decided to run further and around the car to jump on the left side of the car which was even worse as it took longer and he ran further onto the track.

As Hamilton said if they got there a few seconds earlier Hamilton evading Alonso may have swerved right as he did, not seen Webber and quite literally have killed him.

This isn't a what if, he caused two cars to take avoiding action because he was on a ******* racing track and his stupidity could have hurt himself ALonso and at least one other driver very very easily.

I don't see the penalty as bad, even if it wasn't a blind corner, F1 is taking leaps to improve safety, so having someone clinging onto a car doing 50+ Mph doesn't really send that message out. If he slips he's going straight under the rear tyre.

Webber probably doesn't give a **** as he's leaving in a few races, but Alonso should have known better.

I just don't see why in those circumstances people aren't allowed responsibility for themselves. Mark knew what he was doing, he clearly knows the risks . . just let him get on with it!

Just because he is comfortable doing it doesn't mean it is safe. Given that two people almost hit Alonso, it's definitely not 'safe'.

I was thinking the same, but then you've got bikers cruising down the motorway at similar speeds with a pillion hanging onto nothing more than a bar, so hanging onto the camera isn't really any different.

Sending out the right message is all good and well, but if you look at that and think, "yeah, I might hang off the back of a car tomorrow because an F1 driver can", then there are more pressing matters for those individuals. Common sense has got to come into it at some point.

Back in Bangkok now, it's quite surreal and sad not being in Sing anymore. Best weekend, and I'm not the biggest fan of the racing at SIG either. But last night and the whole weekend delivered in bucketfulls.

Will get some photos sorted tomorrow as I now have access to Lightroom.

OMG don't watch MotoGp as you will be calling the health and safety people :)

1. Sounds just like Lewis minus 4.

They didn't almost hit Alonso. They approached him at a slow speed and went around him.

Was it completely safe? No, but they're F1 drivers.

Exactly.

Gah! You can't scratch your arse without someone telling you it's not safe anymore.
